Theme Of Wwii In Lord Of The Flies
The theme of The Lord of the Flies is that evil is with in all but there are different triggers for everyone to let it out.
The Lord of the Flies relates to WWII very directly. The narrator states, “but there were other lights in the sky, moved fast, winked, or went out, though not even a faint popping came down from the battle fought at ten miles’ hight” (Golding 95). This is talking about the dog fights in the sky. When hitler was in power he thought that he was all powerful. “Jack rose from the log that was his throne and sauntered to the edge of the grass”(150). This shows that jack is a king like figure or dictator, just like hitler. “ the officer grinned cheerfully at Ralph. We saw your smoke. What have you been doing? Having a war or something”(201).
