Theme Of To Kill A Mockingbird
The theme of to kill a mocking is scattered. But the theme is in the title. The theme is a mockingbird. Atticus explains that it is wrong to kill a mockingbird because they are innocent and make music for people to enjoy. The reason that is important is because just because a man was black he was charged with a crime that they had no evidence on. Tom robinson is innocent and was charged guilty for rape because the city was racist. But Atticus tried his best and used his bravery but still didn’t come out on top.

Harper lee states, “Shoot all the blues jays you want but remember it is a sin to kill a mockingbird. “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy.” (119) On page 119 it explains to not kill a mockingbird because they say it is a sin. A mockingbird represents innocence. This matters because Tom Robinson is being charged with rape. He is black and he is innocent. He only is being charged because he is black and there is no evidence. …show more content…
You know his parents taught him that. Also scout couldn’t do anything about it. Atticus said that if she got in anymore fights he would wear her out. Also another thing Harper lee states is “That scout Finch's daddy defends niggers.”(99) Why would you even teach your kid that. This is important because if little kids like jacob is saying that then you have to have problems because your kids are out saying

    Throughout the trial the reader is certain that Tom Robinson is innocent of the crime. The only “crime” he commits is feeling sorry for Mayella. Tom did not do or want to cause any harm. For example, when he is explaining what had happened at Mayella's house he said, “I say Miss Mayella lemme outa here an’ tried to run but she got her back to the door an’ I’da had to push her.
