Theme Of Suicide In Romeo And Juliet
In Romeo and Juliet this was a large issue. In the play, Romeo and Juliet both take their lives due to a forbidden love. In the play, they both want to be together so badly that they are willing to take their own life to have it so. Suicide is still today a large issue, teenagers are still taking their lives. Today in the United States alone about 14 teenagers commit suicide every day. In Romeo and Juliet, they both fell into great sadness which apples today with teenagers. Teenagers think that the only way to escape their sadness is to take their own life. I could disagree more, there are multiple suicide prevention hotlines, and facilities around the country, and the world. In Romeo and Juliet, they did not have the help that kids of this

    “I’m sorry…” she wrote on a sticky note. The silence that surrounded her was interrupted by the loud sound of gunfire. That was the last of Claire Woods. Suicide is a very serious matter that has affected people of all backgrounds for a long period of time. In Webster's dictionary, the proper definition of suicide is: “The act or an instance of taking one's own life voluntarily and intentionally especially by a person of years of discretion and of sound mind.” When victims reaches a breaking point in their lives, they believe that there is no other option, that this difficult period in their lives isn’t going to end. So they tend to choose a very permanent solution that they believe will help solve the problem. That solution is suicide. In Romeo and Juliet, the couple had both reached that point. After Romeo had heard the news that his true love was dead he rushed out to be with her and died in her arms. Juliet then wakes up to see that her one and only was dead.
