Theme essay
Theme is the main message/idea of a piece of a writing. In the play “Romeo and Juliet” Written by William Shakespeare there are multiple ideas for what the theme could be; these ideas range from the topic of love, Fate and even haste. But the theme that I think that most represents the whole story of Romeo and Juliet is “If it’s meant to be, then it will be.”
The first reason why I think this is the theme is because Romeo went to the Capulet party to prove Benvolio wrong but instead he ends up meeting Juliet and falling in love with her. This s a sign of fate showing that Romeo and Juliet were truly meant to be together because what are chances of meeting one person that will change your way of living forever in a party of about 300 people.
Another Reason Why I think “If it’s meant to be, then it will be” is the theme of this play is the fact that Romeo and Juliet met each-other before Juliet had gotten married to Paris. This is a sign of fate showing that Romeo and Juliet were meant to be together because if Romeo were to meet Juliet after she was married to Paris, there is a giant possibility that Juliet would not fall in love with Romeo or vice versa.
The final reason why I think this is the thee is the fact that when friar Lawrence helps Juliet make a plan so her and Romeo can run away together Romeo isn’t informed about the plan in time, thus leading to both his and Juliet’s death. This is sign of fate showing that Romeo and Juliet were not meant to be together because if Romeo Could have gotten the message on time, he and Juliet could of run-away together. There is also a huge possibility that if Romeo and Juliet Never were to meet each-other, they would have lived a much longer time.
So in conclusion the theme of the play “Romeo and Juliet” written by William Shakespeare is “if it’s meant to be, then it will be”, but the question that still remain is if Romeo and Juliet were truly meant to be or was it just luck that brought them together?
