Theme Of Love In Much Ado About Nothing

I think this theme affects Benedick, Beatrice, Claudio, and Hero the most. Benedick and Beatrice are in love, but don't really show it. They're always hiding their feelings from one another until the end of the play when they confess their love for eachother. With Claudio and Hero their relationship is played with in several different ways. Love, in Much Ado About Nothing, is like chemistry. If you put people together in a certain way, a certain thing can happen. The lovers in the play are like masked dancers: the way they dance and the situation matter more than who they are dancing with. The lover is like a piece in a game, and like a mask in the crowd. Everyone, no matter who they are will fall in the same way.
