Theme Of Deceit In Much Ado About Nothing
Deceit is one of the main themes in the play. Throughout the play is used for good and cruel intentions. Some of the characters used to fake feelings and others to hide their deepest feelings. For example, when don Pedro woos Hero for Claudio. “Act 1 Scene 1lines 259-265.” Also, there is the case of Benedick and Beatrice always insulting each other as a way to hide their true feelings.

Jealousy is one of the primary subjects in this romance play. In some characters such as Don Pedro is the absence of jealousy when Beatrice turned down his proposal “Act 2 scene 1 lines 274-278.” He acted all naturally after she humiliated him and declined his proposal. Also, Claudio is jealous of Don Pedro because he thought he was wooing Hero for himself.

    Firstly, Beatrice is one of the main female characters in this play. She is niece of Leonato and is unfortunately an orphan, reason of which she has immense freedom. Having so much freedom explains why she is so different from the other women of that time. She did not have the same respect for men since she did not grow up with a father figure like Hero for instance. Being Leonato's niece, makes her Hero's cousin, which explains their close friendship.     The scheme that Don Pedro and his men set up started the romance by helping Benedick fall in love with Beatrice, despite the fact that neither person actually loved one another. Through telling Benedick that Beatrice was madly in love with him and that she would be hurt by his hurtful words, Don Pedro and his men were able to make Benedick fall in love.
