The Wrongful Death.
“All things that we ordainèd festival Turn from their office to black funeral; Our instruments to melancholy bells, Our wedding cheer to a sad burial feast, Our solemn hymns to sullen dirges change, Our bridal flowers serve for a buried corpse, And all things change them to the contrary.” (IV,v,90-96) It is well known that Romeo and Juliet die at the end of the play. I feel that Tybalt is the best person to blame for their death in Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet is a story about two lovers who come from families that hate each other. Romeo, a son to the Montague family and Juliet, a daughter to the Capulet family and they both meet at a party and fall in love. For the argument “Didn’t Tybalt only did one thing wrong?” this is true, but it led to a huge domino effect. I feel that him wanting to fight Romeo knocked the first domino over, but didn’t start the effect. It is like when someone tries to knock the dominoes down, but it doesn’t knock the rest over and you have to try again at the second domino. When he killed Mercutio it started the reaction that lead to the second domino to fall, which led to the downfall of all the rest of the dominos. For the second argument “Wouldn’t it be someone else's fault?” I do not agree with this question. I feel that the character that is to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death is Tybalt. Tybalt caused the first domino to fall. Other people may have done questionable things but the Prince should blame the guy that started it. If two people were in a fight who would get blamed, the guy that started the fight and threw the first punch, or the guy with a black eye just because he threw the second punch to defend
