People like Hiram Maxim, Clement Ader, Karl Jatho, and Augustus Moore Herring, for example flew first than the Wright. These people might have flew first than the Wright, but they failed and the design of their airplanes were the main reason because of their fail.
If you are going to fly an airplane the design of your airplane is really important. When you are going to operate a machine you should how to operate it before you TRY to make sure it works. Some people say that know how to operate something, just by seeing how other people operate it. Other example for what I am trying to say is that people, when they design their own machine maybe they forget some details or they do it in a more complex way and it ends up on a disaster or just do something wrong.
