The Watershed Reflective Essay
I am excited to possibly have a chance to intern with your organization this summer. I came across the Tippecanoe Watershed Foundation while searching for internships close to my hometown of North Webster, Indiana. I believe that The Watershed’s work, along with my coursework and background in the North Webster area, make The Watershed an ideal place for me to intern at. I think that this would be a great opportunity for me to work in the community I grew up in, with the lakes I grew up around.

My studies are one of the main reasons why I think I would be a valuable part of your team. My coursework to date has taught me many useful things including communication skills, computer skills, time management skills, and how to work in a team setting.

Deep River by Shusaku Endo discusses several themes and ideas of the human condition while following several main characters that converge on the river Ganges. Two of the main protagonists that are followed in the novel are on different journeys with their lives, but are heavily influenced by one another. These characters are Mitsuko and Otsu. As such, Endo demonstrates their differences and how their interactions with each other will help shape their views on different aspects of life throughout the novel. In order to show the spiritual, emotional, and mental transformations of these characters, it is essential to analyze the characters from the beginning of the novel to the end of the novel, and the differences recognized through their experiences.…

I was supposed to start in the beginning of February but did not start until late March, which set me back from the other students. Dr.Holt told me I would be interning with Alabama Rivers Alliance, I was astonished, considering that this is a big organization to me I could not believe it. Opportunities like this I thought I would never get. Interning with them and attending the conference in mobile will expand my network, knowledge and gives me a better chance in getting a good job. With Alabama Rivers I expect to do a lot of office work, physical work, and learn policies I have no clue about. I also expect the environment to be friendly and energetic but yet filled with problems to solve. Unfortunately I did not get to experience none of my assumptions because there communication was terrible and was too busy for an…
