Television Show: The Walking Dead, Character: Carl Grimes, Episode: Season 4 premier Carl Grimes, now the second youngest due to his younger sister Judith, begins this season with a new personality that has been hanging over him in the previous season. When we think of The Walking Dead we always see a clear cut line that Rick Grimes is the leader of the pack; however, not so much in this episode. We start off the episode by seeing, father and son escaping from the prison war zone were the huge battle had happened between the Governor’s army and the main pack. You can only begin to imagine the way a child would react to things like this, they would be frightened, scared, given up but no, not Carl. Now if we look back before season four we see Carl try to mature to the situation of a zombie apocalypse, but it seems that his father Rick doesn’t want to lose his son during the epidemic. The most mature thing we see Carl do in this episode is heart breaking if you dig deep. The two enter a house to camp out the night. Unfortunately there is a teenager’s room upstairs, one that could be much like Carls if the apocalypse did not happen. He sees a gaming system, now normally a child would want to play with this, Carl does not, and he sees its true purpose for the situation they are in and uses its cables and a rope to strengthen the locks on the doors.
