The Treasure Of Lemon Brown
In the short story The Treasure Of Lemon Brown. By Walter Dean Myers. The theme of the story is how people can get to know each other in a short time. ”sure it does. And you take care of that treasure of your” Greg says. To begin with the theme is friend ship because, Greg had just met Lemon Brown, But they instantly became very close. Thugs went after Lemon Brown for his treasure. Greg stayed with him through the whole ordeal. Greg didn’t want to go home, because his father was upset with him. I think the tone of the short story is suspenseful. I believe this is the tone because you never know what’s going to happen next. ”Watch my back I’m going up”. Furthermore, the conflict in the story is that Lemon Brown is homeless, and thugs are after him. The resolution is Greg goes home. Lemon Brown gets away from the thugs, keeps his prized treasure, and moves to a different state. He became really sad about his son death and became homeless. Also this story reminds me of a time I was doing badly in langue arts and my father was very upset. He said I couldn’t go out any more. I was really angry and left my house and came back really late and father was very upset. This is like the story because Greg did really badly in school. In summary Lemon Brown was a good friend. Even though Lemon Brown had a lot of hard times he never gave up. He really was good to Greg he showed him friend ship to Greg. I think this is book every 8th grader should read. I recommend it to whoever is in 8th grade.
