The Three Branches Of Government

We have 3 branches of government because we didn’t want monarchy. The U.S. Constitution stated that the U.S. should split the power. So we split it into 3 branches so 1 branch wouldn’t get all the power. The United States of America is a democracy (an indirect democracy or republic, to be specific). The citizens of the country can attend fair elections. The power of the government is in the hands of the people or in the hands of elected representatives. The Executive Branch is the highest branch out of the 3. The President, Vice President, and the President’s Cabinet is part of the Executive Branch. The President has the power to accept or veto a law passed from the houses of Congress. The President's cabinet are advisors for the President. The cabinet is made up of The Vice President and the secretaries of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Department, Interior, Labor, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs.
It includes the House of Representatives and the Senate. When 1 house decides to make a law, it is passed around the house. If the bill (law) passes, it is passed on to the other house. If the bill passes the other house, the Speaker of the House and the Vice President has to sign the bill. After they sign the bill, it goes to the president. The President has the power to make the bill into a law or veto the bill. To veto a bill is to reject a bill. If the President vetoes the bill, it goes back down to the houses. If over ⅔ of the houses are in favor of the bill, the bill can still become a law without the president’s
