The Thoughts

“The Thoughts” It was Christmas Day and I was dreading opening the gift from my Aunt Jenny. As always I planted a corny grin on my face expecting a cheesy present, but I’m not sure if it was cheesy or not. As I was opening my presents I come to my Aunts last and so I pick it up, it was just a small box in the same red wrapping paper with tiny cartoon Christmas trees and big yellow bow on it. I slowly rip the paper and while I’m doing that I start to see a glow coming from the box, when I fully open it I find a measly glowing ball, so I put it in the pile of all my other lame gifts. That night as I was drifting off to sleep I hear a faint whirring sound coming from the closet where I put my presents. I get up and go to check it out, I find my lame gift floating and glowing brighter than normal, then it floats toward me and tells me to grab it, so I do and then it goes into my hand and I start tingling and then … it stops. So I go back to sleep thinking it was just a dream. But was it? The next morning I woke up and remember that “dream” I had but I also remember another dream, and in that dream someone told me “if ever you want just wish for mine, but keep in mind its one days’ time.” I had not one idea what that was supposed to mean. So I keep that in mind and of course I go and play with the toys I got the day before. As I was playing I just had to get my little sister and brother to leave me alone, I wanted that so bad, then my hand started glowing as I remembered to wish so I wished and it went black for a couple of seconds and they were gone and out of sight. For the rest of the day I got everything I wanted, EVERYTHING, from riches to meeting my idols. But then it was time to go to bed so I went upstairs to my room and fell asleep. The next morning I woke up, it was all gone no more anything! I tried to wish it back but I heard something that said “this time next year you should not

As I lie in bed that night I found myself twisting and turning unable to fall asleep, when I heard the loud screech of the screen door opening. I quickly sat up in bed listening to see if somebody was in the house when I heard what sounded like light footsteps walking towards my room. I pretended to be asleep just waiting for the potential intruder to come creeping into my room. I watched the doorway, but nobody ever entered. That is when I felt a light press on the bed beside me as if someone had just lied in my bed. I quickly rolled over to see that nobody was there and fell asleep thinking that I was just going…

On Christmas morning, I awoke excited and ready to open my presents. I ran downstairs and saw a huge box in red and green wrapping paper. As soon as I unwrapped the present, I knew exactly what it was, an Electronic Scooter. It was on the top of my wish list and I asked everyone for it. My mom explained to me that before I used my scooter I needed to wear safety gear, such as knee pads and a helmet. She also said to wait to put it together until she could help me.…

One day, looking threw a china cabinet, I say little, white ears sticking out of an old, china tea cup. The ears had a tint of grey, and they were a little torn. I reached in to grab them, and just as a magician would pull a white rabbit out of his or her hat, I pulled out a little stuffed bunny. I had seen this adorable toy before. I had then remembered play with the toy over the years.…

Dreams are not attributed to any supernatural phenomena. They are the mental activity of a person which occurs during sleep. Dreams allow the mind to detach from the events of waking life. The content of dreams usually include experiences of the previous day because they attach themselves to the thoughts which have been present in one’s consciousness shortly before. They revolve around one’s experiences in reality, either externally or from what has passed through the senses, or internally which is described as one’s waking thoughts or memories (Freud, 1965).…

My winter break was really exciting, and I did a lot of the things that I wanted to do. On the first weekend of our break I stayed at home, my parents got sick so we couldn't go anywhere. After about 3 days they finally got better, that was when the fun actually began. The next day, I went to my Grandma's house in the U.S, we arrived on Christmas Eve, right when I stepped out of the car I ran straight to the front door. After waiting by the door for 2 minutes, she finally let us in. It was Christmas Eve, my dad was there, so I thought I could challenge him to a match of pool. We went downstairs and set up the pool balls. It was my break, what do I have to say I always scratch when I break, this time I actually got a few balls in and If I can remember the 15 ball of stripes and the 5 ball of spots. It was a pretty intense match, in the end I lost badly. Actually I only lost by the 8 ball. After the match we went upstairs shocked to see that it was midnight. My dad told me to go brush my teeth and hop into bed. I rushed as fast as I could because I knew the next day I would get PRESENTS. When I woke up it was Christmas, I got a lot of stuff that I wanted. Cash was to the top of my list this Christmas because I need money so that I can buy my own xbox 360. I then opened more presents and ate with the rest of my family. I came back to Maple Ridge that evening so I could spend time with my friends. I ended up only staying here until Thursday night at which time I went back to the U.S. On Friday morning I was so excited, my mom said that she would take me to get an xbox 360, she finally suckered up and said that she would pay for half of it. I got really excited, I was pleading to my mom, asking her to hurry up so we could leave. We finally left, I arrived at GameStop and purchased it, my wish came true. On the second weekend of our break my grandma came over, it was her birthday the next day but also the New Years. We all…

It was a snowy Monday night during winter break of my eighth grade year: Christmas Eve. Everyone on my dad’s side was gathered including all the cousins, the grandparents, and the aunts and uncles. The six cousins, Michael, J.J., Mina, Hannah, my sister Stephanie, and I were all there. We were eating a buffet style dinner, and the younger generation was sitting on the floor, while the older generations were sitting at the table. Everyone was chatting, catching up on each others lives, and overall having a great time. That is, everyone but me. While everyone was talking amongst each other, I was sitting closest to the corner of the room. Being the youngest, I had no one to talk to. The older boys were talking about sports and college, and the older girls were talking about classes and people at Parkway North. I was not yet in high school and therefore not ready to talk about colleges, and I was not at all interested in sports. I had no one to talk to and nothing to talk about. I ate my dinner as slowly as possible, and finally after about thirty minutes, I was finished. I threw away my trash, and looked for my uncle’s dogs, Charlie and KimChee, because I did not have anything else to do. When I found them, they were in a room far from everyone else, and I realized how pitiful I was. If only I had realized then that the cure to my isolation was communication, I could have prevented the pain that was to come. I starting petting Charlie, but the extent of my upsetness grew exponentially, and in less than five minutes, I was silently crying. After about ten minutes of looking like a complete maniac, I managed to calm myself down and walk out of the room like nothing happened.…

    Best Christmas Ever

Every year I have a great Christmas spending valuable time with family and friends. This past Christmas was the best I’ve ever had. I received the best unexpected gift ever! It all started when everyone in my family came to my house early Christmas morning for breakfast. After breakfast we started passing out gifts. First, we would usually go in a huge circle and everyone would open one gift at a time. This time was different and very odd to me. My family would let everyone open a gift and would skip me. At first, I wondered why I didn’t get my turn yet, but then, I thought to myself that something was up. After a while, my family let me open some of my gifts so that I wouldn’t suspect anything. Next, my whole family huddled up whispering to each other. I then knew that something wasn’t right which made me get a little angry. After my family’s little huddle, they handed me a card. As I read the card, I come across the words,” You will be going on a 7 day cruise to Mexico!” I stood up screaming to the top of my lungs with enjoyment. I cried happy tears because I never expected to go on a cruise especially without my parents. All of my family members rushed to me and gave me a big hug. My grandmother and I cried together in joy and sadness because she was happy for me but at the same time, she didn’t want to see her oldest grandchild leave the country without her being there with me. Over all, my family gave me some advice on what to do and what not to do while I’m on the cruise. I had a great time on the cruise and got to learn about a different culture from mines. It was a unforgettable experience and I would never forget the best Christmas…

Finally it was it the end of the year holidays and my family and my sister Aaeza and I were gone to a farmhouse that we had rented to spend a few days. As we reached there we all unpacked our bags and got a little rest because the journey from our house to the farmhouse was about an 8 hour drive. After we had eaten dinner we all watch a movie together called The Conjuring. It was such a scary and frightening movie that I told my sister to sleep with me. I and my sister got a room with two single beds. For a while I and my sister talked and slowly we went to sleep. About in the middle of the night I heard a really freaky HOWL but I was so much in sleep I thought I was dreaming but just after a little while a heard another noise and this time I realised I wasn’t dreaming at once I could hear two different sounds like KNOCK KNOCK and DING DONG at once and the thing that made me more sure about it was because I wasn’t the only one hearing the noises it was Aaeza as well she told me she could hear the same noises as me. We make our selves not feel scared we were both telling each other that it’s probably the wind. So we both tried going back to sleep. Out of nowhere we heard our room door BAM open against our wall. The really irritating thing was that it was only me and Aaeza hearing the noises everyone else was asleep. So me and Aaeza got up to see what made the door bang and as soon as we got near the door I heard a repeatedly sound happening CHRUNCH, CHRUNCH CHRUNCH. We started shivering even though there was nothing it sight it was just all the scary noises. As soon as we reached the door we heard a loud CLAP and just after that we heard the engine start VROOM. Just after a few minutes the engine stopped and everywhere it was dead silence and we couldn’t hear even one sound. Just as we calmed ourselves down and went downstairs to get a drink we heard we heard two different types of sounds repeating after each other ROOF ROOF, MEOW, ROOF…
