The Theme Of Money In The Great Gatsby
Blinded by the common theme that money makes everything better, Jay Gatsby, Tom Buchanan, and Daisy Buchanan, end up corrupting the American dream they each so badly wanted. By the end of The Great Gatsby, there is no hope left and the American Dream is dead. The People living in the West and East Egg represents the corruption of the American dream as well as how the pursuit of happiness can turn into a pursuit of materialistic wealth.
