My topic is the Telegraph. The general idea of the telegraph is to have long distance communication. The telegraph is important because people could actually talk to their family or friends from out of state. It benefited people who had family out of state or live in a different country. They appreciated it because they could talk to there family from there home. Before the people had to go visit their family member just to talk to them if their family member lived in a different country, they might of not even talked to them. But after the telegraph came out they could talk to people from a long distance away. This helped people communicate from a long distance. That is one reason the telegraph is important. If you didn't have money you couldn't afford the telegraph. It cost between $100 and $200 to construct the lines. So if you wanted your own line you had to pay for it. The cost was quite expensive for some people. If you don't have money you wouldn't be able to buy one. The people that didn't have one would either have to borrow one, or they wouldn't talk to their family for months or years. The first line was 20,000 miles long cost about $1,400 a year which is about $150,000 today. So the people that wanted a telegraph had to have a lot of money. The bad thing about the telegraph is that the telegraph is too expensive for the people who don't have a lot of money. With all the other people having the telegraph the people who don't have think that they need one, but then when they look at one they can't afford the invention. The people who don't have the telegraph do not get to communicate with their family members or their friends that might live out of
If it weren't for the telegraph the telephone wouldn't be a intervention. The people who had the idea of the telephone came from the telegraph. The telegraph was used for long distance communication and the telephone was used for even longer communication. This would make better communication skills like calling. The telegraph was only used for text messaging. Now with the telephone you can hear the person's voice. The telephone is much faster than the telegraph. The telephone was much more expensive than the telegraph. The Telegraph was the start of the telephone. The telephone was invented by a different person. The man was much older. The Telephone when it first came out it was only call there was no text. So if you had a telegraph and a telephone you could talk and text to your family
