The Story Of Phil Gifford
I like how Phil Gifford includes every little bit of detail in the story, he fills the reader in with everything about Valeries life, including the emotional state of them. An example of this is when she was left off the start list for the 2012 olympics, she explained very clearly what she felt like when this was going on and how every person helped to resolve this problem. She went on a TV report and explained to the reader some of the things that she didn’t say and how she was feeling during this time. I really like how Phil includes this.
I also like how I stated earlier that the story alternates between herself and her family’s life and her shot put competitions so the reader can get a lot of facts about her life as well as how she copes

Hope Solo My Story By Hope Solo, was written to entertain the reader. The main purpose of this book was to get Hope’s story out there so she sounds like a mean person with no feelings. Hope Said some things that were rude about one of her teammates because she wasn't started in an important game. Hope had a meltdown and he could be one of the reasons she wrote this book. Hope was upset and embarrassed the whole entire team. Her teammates hated her and the girl who she thought she was close to back stabbed her. Hope took a break and hoped things would get better. The latter did after the head coach was fired and replaced with Pia. Pia was an upbeat coach she sung to us during practice and was always happy.…

Now I know why I have never read a book about skiing before there is not much to it but going up and down mountains. That's not much of a fun book now is it? Wait! Don’t stop reading yet it gets better. As the story begins the motive behind Steff’s journey is to prove she is just as worthy as any “man” mainly her father who she inspires to impress including obtaining his approval. I found the writing a bit philosophical the book's main focus goes beyond just skiing to what Steph was learning about herself and the changes that were taking place inside her such as her process of discovering her own femininity.…

Geraldine lives with her older sister who takes care of her in place of her absent mother and father. Her sister usually provides lunch for her at home, which is better than the free lunch she gets at the high school. One day as she was walking home for lunch that her sister prepares for her, she quickly noticed that their scarce belongings were thrown on the curb, and it looked like she and her sister were being evicted from their apartment. It brought tears to her eyes to see all her possessions thrown on the street and not knowing where home is now. It’s amazing how a young girl handles an adult situation like this.…

I sought brief consolation when Mei sneaked brief respite from the protagonist's narration with insightful monologues and historical recounting from Ruby's parents, siblings, and boyfriend. The struggles and dilemmas are quite common of all relationship dynamics. One worth mentioning would be her brief break up with her boyfriend following a hesitated encounter with a lesbian - perhaps worthy of comparison with a scene from Saving Face (Alice Wu).…

It really interested me to read this book. I found a lot of events that made me think and see how amazing she acted in certain situations and some situations made me wonder what was happening in her life that time. I was really struck to read how she was able to always find her self back after feeling the emotions of isolations and loneliness. For example, when she felt isolated in her childhood she always knew that the reading the bible would always get her back in the state she needed. It amazed me that how she could figure that in an early stage of her life. She turned back to the bible in other situations as well. When she went to jail she felt that the bible could get her back into not feeling week from the hunger strike that they would go on in jail. She also felt in peace when she went to church. She had a lot of influences in her life. One that interested me the most was her sense of community. For example, when she was in Staten Island she felt that she lost sense of spirituality but her friends that she meets in Staten Island were beneficial because she helped her get back a sense of community and…

This is one of the most remarkable books I’ve read. Apart from the shocking beginning of the book, Susie telling her brutal murder, the rest is really emotional. The book makes an unacceptable tragedy, a family grief and the impossibility of justice, a really beautiful and hopeful story. It is intense and moving, and that kind of reading that once started can’t be left aside. It is interesting that Susie tells her murder at the beginning of the book in a quite emotionless and neutral way. Even though gives the reader a lot of emotions while she describes the horror she felt. Susie is a character really friendly and you easily get involved with her on the first pages, feeling bad for all she suffered. Her descriptions of the world are pure and innocent but at the same time really mature. Another thing I really enjoyed about the book is that the murderer identity it’s not the main point of the story so it didn’t became those (in my opinion) annoying stories that take decades to reveal who is the person. The main point of the story is the way that Susie chooses to deal with the unacceptable reality that she’s dead, how her family reacts to this and how to move on after such a tragedy.…

The girl experiences a profound life altering change in the story. At the beginning of the story the girl is portrayed as an unsocial, insecure individual and an outcast in society. She fails to interact with any characters in the story, even those closest to her, (i.e. her mother, her peers, and her best friend). She is unable to express any emotion or opinion on any subject matter, even when it directly concerned her. Her lack of self-confidence and self-esteem holds her back from living life they way she pleases, forcing her to live a life others think best for her.…

I am upfront. I loved this kind of memoir. For a nice and reading many memoirs of late, but none of them have hit me right inside the “feels” such as this one. I will start in what I loved most: Diann. She is someone I desire to be just like. She doesn't sugarcoat everything, and she doesn't hold back any info, even selected information that may not depict her inside the best mild. She admits the girl did things she actually is not satisfied with, but the girl owns people mistakes. I don’t wish to give away too much, but the moment readers are introduced for you to “Sandra”, they will certainly understand what i mean. Honestly, I loved the…

I like the style of writing of Sidney Sheldon---the way he gave me a mental image of the characters and his unique quality of thoughts in storytelling. He provides a fascinating and precise examination of the different aspects of multiple personality disorder through the characters of Ashley, Toni, and Alette. I love the first seven chapters of the book, I was amused by the vivid description of the different personalities of the characters and the well-organized chain of events. However, I was quite unsatisfied with the last part of the book. For a person who never experienced or never heard of stories about the Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) or also…
