The Spread of Islam

By: Tyrese Pope Between 570 to 750, Islam was a rapidly growing religion and the reasons of why are pretty obvious. In a way, it started with Muhammad, although he is not the founder, he spread the word of Allah. After that, Islam spread itself because of the vast trade routes, the government and the successful military. Mecca, the heart of the trade lands, was where most goods were sent out and retrieved. Whether it was Europe or Asia, the cargo was usually coming out of Mecca, which is how the word was spread. The people of Mecca were mainly Muslim people, and when they transported goods their ways and their religion was spread. Or at least that's what I assumed happened, my other less likely theory would be that, since the trade was so well, an abundance of people might've migrated towards that general region. Then, they became submerged in the culture, after being shown the other way of life for so long maybe they would want to be a part of it. I choose to agree with my previous claim for the purposes of this essay. No matter what era or who you are, the world has always been a place where defense is needed to survive, and that's where the military comes in, the defense of the Muslims. The military was extremely successful at carrying out their assigned tasks. They traveled great distances to fight, protect, and practice their religion. Major cities were taken over, creating more land for the Muslims. There is no question as to why and how the military spread Islam. When the land was taken over, the city and the people within it converted to Islam. Fair. That sums up the government of Islam. The are two main things they try to do, and that is maintain the religion and enforce laws. If you're not Muslim, then you have to pay to practice your religion, so this can save you money also. Prowl love the way the government is set up, and since they really love it, why wouldn't they want to be a part of it. So, then they became a part of it, thus spreading Islam even more than before. In a nutshell, they thought that the Islam government was so appealing they should join or at least consider joining. Islam is a very inspirational religion, simply for the fact that they spread their ways pretty much "word to mouth". There were a lot of factors the caused Islam to be the religion that it is present day, but the majority goes to the appeal of the government, the strong successful military, and the fact that they were the kings of trade. So yes, Islam did spread quickly, all from manpower, and we have to give credit where credit is due.
