Slender-man

I've heard the stories. All of them. To be honest, they terrified me. I can't even begin to recount how many time a chill went down my spine every time I heard its name or what they called it at least. Described as a faceless tall slender man with abnormally long limbs usually depicted wearing a suit they called it Slender-man. The town seemed to grow more deserted and damp ever since the first incident occurred a few miles from here. Some poor girl went missing from her quaint little home, she was never heard from again. Now the atmosphere of my world seems bleak and dull as if I’m living in a horror film, I wasn’t the only one affected by this, the horrible atmosphere washed over the people of this town. Adding to this atmosphere it rained more often. The rain would bring with it an eerie fog that would sneak between everything like an ominous snake. The whole setting sent a chill down my spine every time I stepped foot outside of my house. As if the fog wasn’t enough, the woods that surrounded the town were just hair-raising. I swore I could hear noises, noises unlike any woodland creatures. They sounded almost human, but not quite. The trees themselves moved in quite an abnormal fashion, as if they were live soul bearing creatures. My heart skipped a beat whenever a branch creaked, I began to become very paranoid.
Then came the day when it happened. I was strolling through the town casually no one was around everything was quite except for some voice crying in the distance, I paid no attention to it. Of course, a light rain was falling, and with it the fog rolled in. I heard nothing except the light patter of the rain. That is, until another distant voice called out to me. Well of course; it was calling my name. "Hassan" the voice called. Over and over again. My eyes darted all over the place, trying to find who was calling out to me. Not a single soul in sight. Yet that eerie voice kept calling and calling so without a

As seen in many photos, it is clear Slender Man often stays near large groups of children (www.creepypasta.com). Although many choose to view Slender Man as a myth to scare children, proof, sightings, disappearances, and past stories, prove that he is real. Evidence to prove Slender Man’s existence can be found in testimonies of sightings. Many reports prove that he appears mostly peering into windows and walking in front of motorcycles on abandoned roads late at night (www.creepypasta.com). Though indirectly, there have been reports of Slender Man in the news lately.…

I awoke in the early hours of the morning as usual. The air was thick and wet, but the day’s hunt wouldn’t wait. I got up and stretched my legs before checking the traps I set the evening before. The forest seemed unsettlingly too quiet. Did I wake up earlier than I usually would have? I walked down to the waterhole, to see if any of my nets were filled. There was a soft mist over the shallows, creating an ominous feel. I checked up and down the banks, but my nets had all vanished. With the sounding of the raven’s caw, I decided to head back up to camp. I heard a quick rattle in the leaves due east of my position, so I made haste to draw my bow and hold her steady in firing position. My breath was heavy as the musk in the air poured into my lungs.…

You wanted to fly, but the dream fled after you jumped off the deck. Birds gain height, you gained a broken arm. The birds slow and descend onto the small patch of grass to your left. I saw little fledglings pass in front of me many times. I always waited till they had gone before continuing. Day was just beginning to come to a close when I found a cleary that had two buildings in it; one smaller than the other. I saw that the larger one had someone in it so I settled into the small one. It was a lot dustier then my previous shack and it had cobwebs everywhere but it would have to do so I settled myself into a corner, pulled a coat over my back and tried to sleep. I couldn’t sleep at all, I kept waking to find a spider on me or dangling in front of…

As a child, I was raised my whole life in the country side. My mother and I had lived for years in a lonely shack at the edge of the small village we called home. At the very edge of the village was an eerie forest, a forest that seemed to beckon unwary fools into entering it. I was always told as a child to never go near the forest, especially at night. Some people say that a bear lives there, while others say that a serial killer lives there, and some even say that a monster lives there, either way the forest is always portrayed with death. I remember various occasions in which I would wake up for reasons unknown, only to find myself outside in my backyard staring at the edge of the forest, the soft moonlight caressing my bare skin, the crisp night air followed by the refreshing scent of grass. On one occasion I thought I heard a…

I clearly remember when my family and I visited the cathedral pines, one of the most marvelous places in Wisconsin. The cathedral pines consist of coniferous trees with long spindly branches and some low laying brush. The humongous evergreens tower above us, so tall they appear to touch the top of the atmosphere. The timber stretches out around us in all directions, as if the forest never ends, my world swallowed by trees. As we stand in the center of the woods, I gaze at ancient pines surrounding us, standing like giants and rooted strongly into place. Here, the barren ground lacks a single shrub or bush to block the path. However, to reach the middle, we trekked through the thick leafy brush that crowds the trunks of young pines still sprouting…

I looked around and observed the ground beneath my feet. The atmosphere crawled with a moisture that slapped my clothes with water from the trees above. When my confusion came to an end, I decided to go for a hike. Honestly, I hoped to find the woman from the previous night, so that she could give the questions I was dying to rid myself of, an answer. Trying to find a woman in an intense forest felt like trying to find the right receipt in a purse consisting of countless useless items. I never found the woman, but I'd found something that was far worse. A human. It sounds bizarre to say that when a man stepped within 1,000 feet of me I could instantaneously feel a hunger for new skin, and a crucial need to run. Running seemed to be a breeze:…

The wind howled through the woods. The trees violently swayed, threatening to topple with ever shudder. The rain tore through the night, drenching everything in it's path. The dark grey sky crackled with energy, illuminating the whole forest for a fraction of a second. An almighty BOOM sounded throughout the forest, and all surrounding areas. A single spear of lightening darted down to the forest floor gone before a second glance. The sky rumbled; a dark ominous sound.…

I arrived outside my home at five in the afternoon. The winter air felt calm for once, this Saturday. However, when I walked inside I had an eerie feeling. An Abandoned House

    • 340 Words

It was a hot, summer's day as I walked on the dirt road with only silence along my side. As I continued on the road I discovered it led to an old abandoned house. I couldn't help but stop for a few minutes and look at the details of the huge, strange shaped house. I noticed that it had been a long time since anybody even took a look at the house. The old house was left to die, alone, with no one to care. The paint was peeling, the windows were broken and the shingles had been torn from the roof, probably by past storms. What caught my eye was that the unkempt yard, it looked like it hadn’t been cut since the house was abandoned, the grass was almost my height and there was nothing but weeds everywhere. I imagined this house would’ve probably been huge and gorgeous in its days. It had three full stories. The fourth floor had an attic where you could sit and see the sunset on the horizon. The house also had a huge porch with large white columns making a fence to support the balcony. The columns were full of dirt; they looked less white and more brownish-black. As I slowly continued to walk past the house, I could hear the wind whistling through the broken windows. I could see the leftovers of the curtains moving gently in the breeze and the grass swishing left and right in the wind. As I was giving the house a final look I thought I saw a silhouette of somebody beside the window gazing upon me so I started to walk a little bit faster. As I walked I wondered how much longer this house could stand up to the rain and wind before it surrendered itself to nature or would people destroy it and replace it. Maybe it would just be left alone there and would continue standing quietly with its dark, window eyes begging for mercy.…

    Letting Nature Speak

    • 1428 Words

Speaking of nature, as I stand outside on the back porch, the sun is shining and the birds are singing, the smell of freshly cut grass fills the air and the mild breeze feels so refreshing on my skin. In the background I can hear the faint sound of traffic on the highway, cars busily heading to their destinations. It has been breezy for a couple of days now, but the sun is shining and the clouds are moving. As the day progresses, the wind speed increases and the temperature steadily decreases making a visit to the porch a little less comfortable than it was this morning. The humidity level has steadily increased as well, making my clothing sticky and somewhat annoying, also causing my paper to become limp and not as easily manageable. The clouds seemed to be huddling together as if forming a mob, moving in slowing overhead creating a blanket between the sun and me. My pleasant sunshine has been taken away from me now and I am left with a gray blanket of cloud cover to observe, I am picking out different shapes and possible figures within them. As the clouds continue moving by, more ominous clouds replace their predecessors, making the world around me darker and darker. The temperature is cool and the breeze is stronger than it was earlier. I hear thunder rumbling in the distance, a normal precursor to a storm. The thunder seems like a would be stalker approaching from the darkness, only his footsteps are so loud it shakes the earth and rattles the windows, demanding its…
