Zack Lincoln Tayler is a determined young man. Zack is a character from the novel,”The Secret Life Of Bees”. The book is dated back to the 1960’s when there was segregation among African Americans. Zack is a determined young man, he has a dream of becoming a lawyer and bringing justice among racist white people, he doesn't have a bias opinion about certain types of people. He is in high school for the whole span of the book, he became very hard and more determined near the end of the book because he was arrested for being with a group of friends and one of the boys threw a glass bottle at a group of white men, Zack and his friends didn't admit which one of them threw the bottle, so him and his friends were arrested and taken to jail. Gave Zack an eleven thousand dollar scholarship to come to their school for their law program. Zacks dreams are falling into place, he's going to one of the best schools for law in the world, and he gets to do it all for free because of all of the hard work he did when he was in school. After Zack graduated from high school he said goodbye to his family and friends, the hardest person to say bye to, was Lily. She didn't want to see him go and leave her and rarely see her, she also was scared of him finding someone else other than her. He set off to his new home, his dorm. He found out he would be bunking with another student in the law program they offered at Harvard, the student's name was James. Over the course of Zacks first four years of college to get his bachelor's degree, him and James became very close friends.James and Zack studied with each other and helped each other remember all the information they needed to know for becoming successful lawyers. James came from a different background then Zack. First off, James is white, another difference between them is that James is paying for his education, James comes from a very wealthy family from the east coast. On the other side, Zack has a scholarship because of how intelligent he is. Zack was doing well in college, he enjoyed being there, he enjoyed the atmosphere that college had. After he got his bachelor's degree he practiced four more years of law Zack was officially a lawyer.
