The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ

Good Essays
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ Praise the Lord. Respected judges and my dear friends, greetings to you all in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel. The Savior's coming will be literal, personal, visible, and worldwide. When He returns, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and together with the righteous living will be glorified and taken to heaven, but the unrighteous will remain on Earth. The almost complete fulfillment of prophecy, together with the present condition of the world, indicates that Christ's coming is about to happen. The time of that event has not been revealed, and we ar
.e therefore encouraged to be ready at all times. To see Jesus! To unite forever with Him who loves us more than we can imagine! To have an end of all earthly suffering! To enjoy eternity with resurrected loved ones now at rest! No wonder that since Christ's ascension His friends have looked forward to that day. The second coming of Jesus Christ is the hope of believers that God is in control of all things, and is faithful to the promises and prophecies in His Word. In His first coming, Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby in a manger in Bethlehem, just as prophesied. Jesus fulfilled many of the prophecies of the Messiah during His birth, life, death, and resurrection. However, there are some prophecies regarding the Messiah that Jesus has not yet fulfilled. The second coming of Christ will be his return to fulfill these remaining prophecies. In His first coming, Jesus was the suffering Servant. In His second coming, Jesus will be the conquering King. In His first coming, Jesus arrived in the most humble of circumstances. In His second coming, Jesus will arrive with the armies of heaven at His side. Christ's coming will be unexpected and dramatic. It's in the Bible, 2 Peter 3:10, NKJV. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which

The Rapture of the church is not to be confused with the Second Coming of Jesus. Let's review real quickly here the viewpoint of a Pre-Tribulation rapture. The Second Coming will be when Jesus returns to the Earth to defeat the antichrist, and to establish the Millennial Kingdom. The Second Coming of Jesus will occur after the Great Tribulation, as seen in Revelation chapters 6-9. The Second Coming is for the removal of the unbelievers, and it will be visible to everyone, unlike the Rapture, which will be secret, and instantaneous. Several end time events have to take place before the Second Coming occurs. Biblical prophecies serve to remind us to always be spiritually ready. At the Rapture, believers will meet Jesus in the air, and there…

The lineage of Jesus is a compelling prophecy because many of these were fulfilled in the Old Testament prior to Jesus birth. His birth is unique because of the prerequisite requirements to fulfill the prophecy which included being born of the lineage of David, His date of birth, He was delivered in Bethlehem and born to a virgin mother. Daniel 9:25 scripture speaks to the coming of the Messiah “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One,[a] the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble" (Holy Bible). The scripture refers to the Anointed One, followed by the ruler; this is a direct foreshadowing of Jesus.…

The book Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, expresses a lot of similarities to the poem The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats. In his poem Butler is referring and connecting it to the Civil War It gives a deep connection to Things Fall Apart, because in the book it is impposible to stop changes from happening. The coming rapture is a time where all believers of Christ, “from the day of Pentecost to the day” of Christ’s return will be taken from this earth to reside with Christ. It is at this time that we will shed off our physical bodies to embrace new, “incorruptible heavenly bodies” (LaHaye and Jenkins 97). 1 Thessalonians 4:16 and 17 states that the rapture will begin with the cry of an archangel as the Lord comes down to the earth. After the Lord once again walks the earth, the dead who were in Christ will rise from their graves and following them those walking the earth, alive, will together ascend into the clouds where they will meet the Lord in the skies (Blue Letter Bible). This rapture is “coming soon” as Jesus says in Revelations 22:20. Seeing that Jesus does not abide by the laws of time, His definition of “soon” is very different from ours. The only way to track His second coming, the rapture, is to…
