Children aren't in armies, they aren't commanders, they don't rule over forty other kids, it's more than anybody can take and not get crazy" (Card, 8.134). This shows the immense pressure put on children to behave more like adults throughout Ender’s Game. Ender’s Game has an action pact plot that focuses on the main character, Ender, maturing into a commander to save the human race. The story starts out with Ender being a young boy who is very intelligent in a school with regular kids. The major theme of this short story is knowledge and it perceives it as knowledge without wisdom is nothing. John’s character reveals his desire to find the truth and have more knowledge on his journey when he says, “It is better than to lose one’s life than one’s spirit”. This shows that it is better to die trying to find the truth than to not try and to be left questioning which connects to the theme of knowledge because with truth there comes knowledge. The apocalyptic themes presented in Kaiju films are heavily related to the America use of atomic bombs on Japan. As the Americans are seen as the reason for the rise of Godzilla, they in turn are seen as the destroyers of Oda and Tokyo. This can be seen as a very direct way of blaming the Americans for the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the subsequent reign of terror and mass censorship that followed. For a period of seven years, during the occupation of Japan by American forces, censorship, particularly pertaining to the destruction of the atomic bombings was strong. Many of the criminals who were placed under Class-A, -B, or –C classifications were journalists. After the atomic bombings the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission (ABCC)…

    Deception Theme

The art of lying and deception has developed over centuries of mistruth, to become in today's modern world a necessity of life. Thus, the theme I chose for my body of works is deception. Deception is the act of misleading another to believe information that is false. In this case, my body of works are trying to decieve the person's perspective as if it was a surreal moment. I chose this theme because it relates to our modern society and it will give the audience a chance to reflect back on themselves. Besides optical illusion pictures, not alot of artists are known to incorporate deception, due to the fact that they are scared of not getting their message across in a competitive art industry. Therefore, it makes it more original and unique if I attempt it so I can discover my capabilities and versatility in visual arts. To begin with, I came up with this theme when I watched the mismerizing…

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green has a multitude of running themes throughout the novel. In my opinion, even though this is a fictional book, the themes, especially those pertaining to the way the universe works, are relatable and weigh on my people’s minds. For example, one theme is the fear of oblivion. I believe this is a theme in many people’s lives, not just in this book.…

One example is when the children back Margot into a closet and lock her in. The children “caught her and bore her… back into a closet, where they slammed and locked the door.” (Bradbury pg. 3) Then ran back down the tunnel to the teacher smiling maliciously. This shows the theme by the way the children act towards Margot. They are so mean to her just because she believes in something that they don’t. Another example of the theme is after the children go outside for the first time in seven years and then they remember that Margot was still in the closet. The children suddenly realize that Margot was “still in the closet where we locked her” and stood as if “someone had driven them into the floor.” (Bradbury pg. 4) This shows the theme through the way Bradbury describes the children’s reaction when they realize that Margot had missed the sun because of them. They finally realized that they were wrong to treat her that way, and felt extremely guilty for being so disrespectful to her. The theme helps show the flaws in human nature by how the children treat Margot through the…
