The life lesson that should be taken from “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst is choices and actions affect everyone. When Doodle was born he had a very slight chance at living, most people thought he would forsure die. However Doodle did not die but what his brother did and said to him was just as horrible. One of the many ways Doodles brother hurt him was by changing his original name from William Armstrong to Doodle so others would not expect much of him. As a result of Doodle being too weak to walk it began to poke at doodles brothers pride.When doodles brothers pride became an issue he decided to teach doodle to walk.
