The Role Of Women During The 19th Century
The role of women during the 19th century was important and was undergoing many changes because of the start of the women’s right movement. Additionally, the women’s role in society was very different from all of the other countries in Europe because of the political situation of the country. Women still had many restrictions and a good woman was considered someone who stayed at home and obeyed her husband. Therefore, women were not allowed to attend high school until 1850’s, In addition, upper class women knew about art, music and writing but they were not allowed to publish any books, and if they did published something, their work was not taken seriously by the men who saw women as less than men in every aspect including intellectually.
