The Role Of Power In George Orwell's Animal Farm

I absolutely agree with Abraham Lincoln’s statement. Power is not a jocular matter, if someone is presented with power it can get to their head and they can become corrupt. These people believe just because they are in charge and have power that they can do anything and go against the rules. Due to too much power, people may think they are more powerful than everyone else and put themselves in front of others. Too much power makes it easy for selfish leaders to pursue their own goals at the expense of the well-being of others. I believe that people who do these things are very pusillanimous because all they care about is themselves and they put their needs before others. Many people would grouse if they had a person blinded by power as a leader of their group or nation.
Napoleon changed commandments so that he wasn’t breaking them, and he had others do his dirty work. Once Napoleon became leader of the animal farm, the farm was in complete disarray. In the end there wasn’t a positive state of concord among the animals on the farm, the pigs were more powerful than the other animals. If people had Napoleon as a leader it would surely nettle them because of his ludicrous ways. It is incumbent upon a leader to put the needs and well-being of others before his/her needs, and treat everyone equally. Only someone with consummate qualities and knowledge, someone who doesn’t put their needs before others, would be able to handle power the right way. It is an exigency for someone with power to have the right traits and qualities, if they don’t they will become blinded by power.
