In the crucible, John Proctor resembles just what a tragic hero is, he fulfills all the expectations a tragic hero would follow. He had a tragic flaw that follows him along the way which was Abigail, the girl he had an affair with.

John Proctor from what many have read, seems to be a pretty, respectable man. Although he has overcome what he has done, his actions has led to questioning from people who though highly of him as well as his wife Elizabeth. He did not however, have this flaw bring him down from his goal of trying to convince the town that the girls were frauds.
