Due to the increase in the developments in artificial intelligence, roughly only 23% of the elderly population that are unable to live alone has access to having the option of receiving safer, one on one care in the comfort of their own homes with the help of robots. Unfortunately, the other 77% of the elderly population that requires the use of assisted living is still incapable of affording such extensive in-home care. For instance, an AI-1000 has the capacity to monitor how many medications the person under its care is required to take, reducing the risk of medical drug overdoses and injuries. The AI-1000 is capable of performing various domestic chores such as cooking and cleaning, which would decrease the chances of a senior citizen acquiring an injury while attempting to do these chores themselves. An AI-1000 can also safely drive and operate machinery, this would give the elderly the option to go where ever they pleased, at any time, allowing for the patient to visit loved ones, which would increase their sense of joy and well-being.
