The Road Monologue
The next morning I woke up to the sound of snoring in my ear.

[Some nerve you have
To break up my lonely]

Than I noticed that hideen's arms were around me and I didn't want to move them.

[And tell me you want me
How dare you march into my heart
Oh how rude of you]

Then out of nowhere Hideen kissed my neck and whispered in my ear.

"Goodmorning" he said

[To ruin my miserable
And tell me I’m beautiful
'Cause I wasn’t looking for love no
Nobody asked to get me attached to you]

I turned around and kissed him on the lips, I broke away just before asking.

"What time is it"

"8:30am"

After he told me the time he disappeared under the cover.

[In fact you tricked me
And I wasn’t trying to fall in love but boy you pushed me
So all that I’m asking
Is that you handle me with caution
'Cause I don’t give myself often
But I guess I’ll try today

'Cause I’ve had my heart
Broken before
And I promised I would never

He stopped moving and fell to the ground, the fire around his neck gone now. The creacher that I seen next almost gave me a heart attack. A woman with bat like wings and bird like feet with massive claws came rushing to him. Before I knew it my feet where in motion and i was by his side, I cut at the beast and cut off the foot and golden blood rain out. I turned the hilt of my sword and the sword loosened and I wiped my sword around its neck digging the blades into its neck and it went wild. I tried my best to keep it from flying away than out of no were three silver arrows shot into its back making it explod into gold dust than I noticed the army of girls in camo pants and black T-shirts and silver bows. I noticed the lead girls, one in a silver flowing dress with a crown made to shape like the moon, she was Artemis the goddess of the hunt. I meet her last night at the dinner but the girl next to her I had never seen. I did a quick bow before the girl next to Artemis kicked me in the chest so hard i lost my

You could almost hear the souls of my fellow men screaming for mercy as the beast devoured every scrap of their bodies. He went through man by man by man in a matter of minutes with the most utterly disgusting noise of horrible manners. The bitter night Avah was killed the whole town was out celebrating. The Spring Festival was an annual affair and only the most isolated of persons would have not been there. It was a festival meticulously planned out by those intrigued in such matters and each detail was carried out to exact perfection. The Humphrey family would perform a skit each year at exactly six-thirty, the mayor would grace the audience with a well-planned speech at six-forty-five. At seven o’clock the potluck dessert would be brought out by the women and then once a half hour had passed, enough time for the people to converse with each other, the festival games would begin.…

I could hear the blood pumping in my ears, away from the situation, and I started calming my breathing. I headed back to camp, content with trying to forget what I heard. The heavy footsteps of a creature larger than simple game. Almost as though just hiding from me, either to prepare to pounce, or to hide. What bothered me most however, was not that it was seemingly a creature who just wanted to hide, but that it hid. It sounded like a large creature, but a deer would have run, and a wolf would attack, followed by others. What was that? As I reached the campsite, the flames of my fire were softly dancing as though doing a waltz. I checked all of camp, but all the food and supplies I had gathered were gone. I headed back into the woods to the spot where I heard the rustle of leaves. The forest was still unsettlingly still, so I made the point to make my presence be known. I searched for any signs of where my belongings could have ended up. I stumbled upon a skinned deer. With that I knew I was not alone. I searched further, and found the hide on the ground near the river. I lifted it, wondering why any creature would skin a deer just to leave the hide behind not too far…

The drunkards go home, throwing beer bottles behind their left shoulders: alcohol stains spell out initials of people they used to love and the name of that casino down the road. This is how mornings begin in the city: knee, shoulder, and right knuckle skinned in half-hearted fights; fingertips hypothermic blue, just for show. The alleyways are filled with tired eyes and clusters of folded yellow flowers in unfeeling hands. Glass shatters like ocean waves, like my mind when time stopped ticking forward. We set our watches back by an hour, by two, by ten and a half.…
