There is a scientific debate to either kill vampire bats or save them. Firstly, vampire bats need to be killed. For example, bats are killing cattle. Cattleman from Panama, Francisco Oliva, claims, “He lost 10 calves to anemia caused by successive bloodlettings” (Kraul). Therefore, they should be killed because cattlemen are losing a lot of cattle. Secondly, Vampire bats should be saved. For instance, these bats might be helpful to us. Research zoologist, Stefan Klose reports, “Vampire could hold the key to a problem we want to solve, like AIDS or cancer” (Kraul).
