As depicted by Green’s Blacksmith at the Forge (1855) and Menzel’s The Iron Rolling Mill (1875), how did the process of industrialization alter people’s relationships to their work/occupation?…
The Industrial Revolution is a major factor in why our nation is like it is today. We are a nation formed under capitalism, and the industrial revolution was the epitome of capitalism. It was the start of big business, big cities, and big pay checks for some. A lot of good things and some bad things came form the revolution. It seemed that a positive usually went hand in hand with a negative. For instance the use of mass production gave us products quicker and more efficient but it lead to unsafe working conditions and child labor. Also the revolution made some people very rich but the change to the city nearly wiped them out. Even though there are pros and cons to many aspects of the revolution I believe that over all the Industrial Revolution was a positive thing; with the improvements in technology, new inventions, and the growing idea if you worked hard enough you could succeed.…
Some may argue that the Industrial Revolution had mostly negative effects because it made lives worse because of pollution, high risk of death, and child labor/poor working conditions. The positives that came out of it overshadow the negatives however. Improved technology, better transportation systems, and more…
In the final analysis it can be proven that the Industrial Revolution was positive. Society pushed themselves to grand opportunity, expanded their way of thinking, and created businesses that became household names. The Industrial Revolution provided more efficient technology that opened up opportunity for the common man to build his own business…
People today may argue that what happened during the Industrial Revolution in the late 1700s may have been positive or may have brought problems to the working class. There were many creations and turnouts that greatly impacted the world. With the positive turnouts, there were also negative happenings due to some poor choices and the impacts that were positive towards society. Throughout the Industrial Revolution, there were beneficial changes for the access to goods to purchase, however, there were also problematic changes in the health and life expectancy.…
Many things came to be at the turn of the 19th century, such as the Industrial Revolution, which brought many positive things to the world today. One of many positive effects was the lift off of innovative technology. Such as the telegraph and telephone. These inventions transformed communications in which sped up the sharing of important knowledge (Wyatt 112). Technology led to the development of mechanization in which another positive effect was the ability to mass-produce. Machinist had to individually cut out and create parts but with the help of machines. The process of creating uniformed components for finished goods became rapid and simple (Wyatt 110). Mass production helped with the economical growth at it ensured…
The Industrial Revolution was one of the most if not the most important period in the United States o America. Multiple advancement's took place during the time of the Industrial Revolution, which is the main reason for all of our resources and transportation ways in the present day. Along with the advancements, The Industrial Revolution also brought many negative side effects to America. Negative impacts such as child labor, urban sprawl, human waste and sewage issues. For cities such as Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Detroit urban sprawling became an issue.…
Before the Industrial Revolution, technology was considered to be a candle, or a horse and buggy. But after coal was discovered and machines of all sorts were invented, the future of the way we lived held in this time period's hands. In lots of ways, it was a good thing. It made our lives more than toiling in the fields and milking the cows. This was about travel, and new job opportunities for anyone who was looking for work. It was about making an income just by working with simple machines. However, during this revolution, also came child labor and the focus of education. Everyone was taught that you didn't need knowledge or to be an adult to make a living. So what was the point? Having tons of factories then buying stuff the factories would make with the money you would make by working for the factories (if that makes any sense). I will be reflecting the pros and cons of the Industrial Revolution that everyone will be able to agree on in this editorial.…
During the Industrial Revolution, some workers and citizens had positive things about the Revolution. But there were people who disagree on the revolution, for example because people had to go from the rural area to the city. The thing is, people had different reaction about the revolution. For now,we’re going to be talking the events that happen during this time of history. Also going in-depth with specific details with the positives of the revolution.…
they're probably wouldn't have been an industrial revolution if they're was not a huge increase in population. They were very unorganized in Industry and farming and it wasn't working very well, but we're working well enough to keep the people alive and give them what they needed/wanted. Since people didn't live as long as they do now, they didn't really care about the quality of things. People were barely living.…
The Industrial Revolution was a time in history where the workers were so poor and the employers were so rich. In this time period the business owners had it all, it was complete monopolism. On the contrary, the working class was so poor that the children, ,who were the next generation, were uneducated because the parents were being paid so little that the children had to spend their time working instead of learning. Although the Industrial Revolution had some good things, the bad things that it caused overweigh the good things.…
On the bright side, the Industrial Revolution was a time things were no longer powered by man but by machine instead. Clothes were produced faster and with better quality, travelling became a relatively easy task instead of a near impossible one and food was much more abundant than before. Due to the tremendous advancements of machinery, the Industrial Revolution changed the lives of many for the better.…
Looking at the Industrial Revolution overall, it was great for the economy. It provided comforts and conveniences that did not exist centuries ago, and were used by all man. The houses were built better, clothes were cheaper, and utensils were infinite. You could also travel cheaper at a quicker and cheaper expense (Document 4). This greatly benefited the economy in England and definitely made life much easier for people. Secondly, British Iron Production fluctuated tremendously because of the Industrial Revolution from 1740-1900. For example, in 1740, the production of iron was about 17,350 tons. However in 1900, the iron production was 9,000,000 tons (Document 8). This is a significant increase for such a useful and important resource in everyday life. The Industrial Revolution created newer, faster methods of production and jobs were offered to all groups of people. It also made life easier with the advances in everyday resources.…
Although the evidence against industrialization is overwhelming, it cannot be denied that it was the foundation for our modern world. From the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, life got better instead of getting worse. Stearns and Chapman state "When they found factory employment, workers seldom could note a significant worsening of their situation: many factory workers actually gained some ground in standard living". From the start many peasants increased living conditions from pre-industrial life.…
The statement is true to the extent that it is somewhat false and true. This is due to the fact that every major positive impact always brings in many negative impacts with it that even sometimes affects other major impacts of the Industrial Revolution. The impacts of the Industrial Revolution changed the world vastly and improved civilization with all the negative effects it also produced.…
