The Pros And Cons Of The Crusades
The Crusades began in 1095, when the Byzantine Emperor in Constantinople sent an ambassador to The Pope Urban II in Italy asking for military help against the growing Turkish threat. The Pope responded immediately by telling the Catholic soldiers to join the First Crusade. Their goal was to conquer the Holy Land from the Muslims. The pope also wanted to reunite the Eastern and Western empires so he decided to create conflict between Muslim Empire hoping for a reunion. Basically, he wanted Christians to rule over the entire world. The pope also manipulated people into joining the crusades, he told them that if they went to war, their sins would be forgiven. With this, hundreds of thousands of Christians joined the crusades.

They are both misinformed about the other because they don’t have personal experience with each other. Most of the people in the West and Islamic East, don’t really know what the others religion is truly about and they don’t really care. They also don’t know what are the expectation in their religion and what they should do or what they shouldn’t do. In the West there are Popes and in the East there are Islamic leaders, who give out information or teach their people what they think is right or wrong for their own purposes, gain, and popularity, they all have their own agendas. Also, in this century, media has so much control about what people learn and don’t learn, from far away areas to even their own. Most of society are sheep, in such that they believe everything they hear without questioning it. All information given to them is now true if they can be persuaded to believe so, which is not very hard for the majority of society, especially if they have been taught the same ideas throughout history classes in school or learn it from
