The Pros And Cons Of Stricter Gun Laws
From the two policy options provided above, the best option would be for the government to create a strict gun law which forbids people to carry a gun no matter where they were unless they take a month long gun class. Doing so would make sure that the people with gun license do not have a background of committing a felony, crime, or have a mental illness. Taking the class would provide gun licenses owners to know safety measures and how to deal with a gun. People around gun owners would feel safe because not everyone owns a gun unless they have taken the class that is offered by the government. People who are experts with guns and gun shop owners would need to collaborate with the government to make the new policy succeed. Gun expert need to give some of their time, which may be an hour or two a day just to teach the class. The government could pay these people or they could just be volunteers. Gun shop owners are going to play a big role. The role of gun shop owners is to make sure that the government has issued the person who is buying the gun with the gun license. Since some people may have a duplicate or false gun license, the gun shop owner would first need to make sure that the person who is buying the gun has taken the gun class provided by the government and has the gun licenses which is also given by the government. The new gun law policy can also benefit the government. The month long gun class would be available to take once every four months. This means that there would be three gun classes held by the government a year. With this being said, people would want to sign up for the soonest class in order to obtain their gun license. If 50 or more people signed up for one of the three gun classes per year, that means that each person would have to pay $200. $200 time 50 equals 10,000. The government would not be facing a loss. They would actually be increasing their profit which they are able to use for better streets or anything else that the country might
