The Pros And Cons Of Concealed Weapons
Some people think that conealed weapons and guns raise crime, however, it actually lowers crime. The people who think we shouldnt have concealed weapons think that the reason we have these murders is because we allow people to have guns but that is not true. For example “ States with restricted on the carrying of concealed weapons had higher gun related murders”(Gun rights con). See when states didnt allow concealed weapons the bad people of the world see we cant defend ourselves. Which leads to them being able to do whatever they want and we cant defend ourselves. So if murder crimes happen no matter what at least let us have a way to defend ourselve. To wrap up we need to get past the fact that yeah we are carrying weapons but not to kill

Opponents of concealed carry argue that increased gun ownership leads to more gun crime and unintended gun injuries. They contend that concealed handguns increase the chances of arguments becoming lethal, and that society would be safer with fewer guns on the street, not more. Dr. John Lott, published More Guns, Less Crime which concluded that the "shall-issue" laws linked with a reduction in violent crimes in 1988. Lott argued that if states that did not permit concealed handguns in 1992 had permitted them in 1977, 1,570 murders, 4,177 rapes, 60,000 aggravated assaults, and 12,000 robberies would have been prevented between 1977 and…

Before this assignment I opposed the open carry law. It endangers the lives of children, teens, and adults. Guns should not be allowed on college campuses, amusement parks, or any other public place. My attitude and beliefs toward about the open carry after doing this assignment has changed slightly. I am still not in agreement with carrying loaded guns anywhere. However, under certain circumstances, it should be allowed. For example, if a female nurse is getting off work late and she is parked in the hospital garage, she would need something to protect herself with just in case someone were to try to harm her. Although, my suggestion is for people to use Tasers, or other form of weapons to protect themselves instead of…

Over the past couple months, we have been hearing devastating news reports. School shootings, movie theater massacres, church shootings, there has been numerous reports of these tragic events. Many people believe that guns are the problem, but in reality it’s the people that need to think before they act. It’s true what they say, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” the more people with guns in the street, the safer it can be. There have been many states that have passed laws that let people openly carry guns, and Oregon is considering passing it as well. Oregon should allow law abiding citizens to carry guns openly. There have been many other states that has proven the open carry law works and is beneficial. Passing the open carry…

If people are granted a concealed weapons license, the crime rate will decrease. More than just murder would decrease. Concealed guns reduced murder, rapes, aggravated assaults, and robbery. One reason for this is because criminals would feel scared because they wouldn’t know who is carrying a concealed gun. The Second amendment also plays a part…

Concealed carry has been around since the beggining of America. It is our second amendment right to carry a concealed weapon in the public. In second amendment it states, “a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to bear arms should not be fringed” (B). That means that people should have the right to have a weapon and defend themselves. That was obviously put into place a long time ago, but more recently they changed it a little bit. In the 2012 court case “moore vs. madigan” ruled that, “ The second amendment right to bear arms must be interpreted to include a right to have a concealed carry in public, to have it ready for use, and to have it for self defence” (B). That debate…

As commonly known, protection means a thing, person, or group that protects. In this case, protection is a firearm. Across the United States, conceal and carry is a law that allows a trained licensed owner to possess a weapon for protection in times of desperation. In this generation, school employees should be allowed to conceal and carry, because the potential dangers that schools face could be stopped in a moment’s notice to protect all from harm. An attempt to stop a mass attack is more helpful than ignoring the fact lives are at risk.…

Many Americans today openly carry their guns with them in public. There are different reasons why some people do open-carry, but one of the main reasons is for self protection. America has had many gun laws passed in the past years, making it more strict. With all of the shootings going on, and terroristic threats, more people have been buying guns for their own protection. People never know when a shooting could happen, and that is a scary thought to many Americans across the nation.…

Nearly eleven million Americans have their concealed or unconcealed carry permits within the United States. I believe that unconcealed (open) carrying of weapons or concealed carry of a firearm is a law that should not be infringed. I believe this to be true because the right to carry a firearm concealed or not is guaranteed by the 2nd amendment. Many advantages come with openly carrying or concealing a firearm on your person when out in public. For example carrying a firearm can be a deterrent for violent crimes or activities, prevent spree shootings, protect yourself, your family, and even other members of society who cannot always rely on law enforcement.…

Guns are used 2.5 million times a year in self defense. Armed citizens kill more criminals than police do. They shoot and kill twice as many in a year then they do. Which is something cool to know about concealed carry. Although, the second amendment of the US constitution allows citizens to bear arms, adults should have the right to concealed carry, because criminals are less likely to attack someone that might have a gun, criminals carry concealed carry regardless of legality, and carrying a concealed weapon could help stop all of the shooting sprees.…

On Friday, December 14 there was a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. A man shot an entrance into the school, through the front office and then continued toward the classrooms. He walked into a Kindergarten classroom of 14 innocent 4 and 5 students and a substitute teacher, in which he shot all of them. He continued toward a first grade classroom in which he shot the teacher and six of the students. This is all could have been stopped if a citizen with a Concealed Carry Permit, CCP, was near during the incident. A school isn't allowed to have guns on campus and that makes it all the bit more easy for a shooter to walk in and not be stopped. Concealed weapons should be legal in all states because it is a right of the US citizen, can stop…

It has been a proven fact that the states with stricter gun control have increased the crime rate by a lot. That is happening because some people still have guns and the government are disarming everybody else which makes it easier to rob store gas stations and banks. “Although guns killed 35,957 people in 1995 the guns didn’t pull the trigger people did.”(Schmittroth 3) Most of those killings were from having gun control. If we got rid of gun control it would reduce the amount of crimes that go on in the United States. Most of the guns in the United States protect lives more than they take lives. But that only happens when there is no gun control. And handguns are perfect for women to keep in there purse to have for self-defense. But the government is trying to pass gun control which will leave most of the women defenseless. Which bad thing is that approximately 200,000 women in the United States use guns to protect themselves from sexual crimes every single year. And guns prevent more injures than they…

The problem being crimes committed using fire arms. What the Government fails to recognize is that criminals do not abide by the laws, taking weapons away from law abiding citizen will only give the criminals more means to do harm. There is a law against braking and entering but criminals still do it. There is a Law against stealing, yet criminals still continue to steal. So what will taking guns away from Law abiding citizens do? Absolutely nothing other than make citizens more vulnerable to the criminals. While a study was found between 1980 and 2009, shows the States with restrictions on carrying concealed fire arms had higher gun-related murders(ProCon #2). This will also be the first and only Law that amplifies the problem rather than helping. If criminals want to have guns they will find a way to get them. Taking away legally owned guns does not get rid of the illegally owned guns. The Gun Control Law will give criminals the upper hand, they will be more likely to shoot innocent people to get why they want, expectably know there will not be bullet fired back at them. The reason Gun control has not affect on murders is because the killing is not being done people with legally owned…
