The Philadelphia Eagles Are My Favorite Football Team
My favorite sports team is the Philadelphia Eagles. I have liked this team since I was a little kid, and I have a ton of eagles gear in my room. My walls are green for 2 reasons. The first reason is my favorite color is green but the second reason is for the eagles because their team color is green. There are many seasons that this team is atrocious and trash but I have stuck with them for 11 years now. I also know about their past and the great players that they had. I follow their Instagram and get all the recent news from there. This team makes me so mad because they don’t win much, but I am surprisingly still able to put up with the bad players and the bad coaches we have had. The Philadelphia Eagles are my favorite football team and it

My professional franchise of choice is the Carolina Panthers. The original Panther logo was a black panther trimmed in blue consisting of silver face features with a 3/4 view. The panther’s mouth was opened with jagged teeth to reveal a vicious appearance. The Panther’s logo started its transition to the logo of today in 2012. This was the first changes done to the logo since the team entered the National Football League in 1995. It was designed to present a more modern, antagonistic, look. It was designed with the intentions of staying true to the roots of the panther’s delicate updates presenting a tougher, stronger, clearer panther. The symbol represents that the Panthers team will attack their competitors in the final phases of the game…

“The problem with Philadelphia fans is that they want you to play every game like it’s your last” (Swartz, Bryn). The Philadelphia Eagles franchise has many interesting facts about its past. At one time Philadelphia even represented the whole state of Pennsylvania for football. During many of the changes the team has experienced, the franchise has improved tremendously in its cultural aspect and the environmental relevance. Not only does this franchise have one of the most unique backgrounds but it also has a huge and dedicated fan base. The city of Philadelphia hasn't always been the home of the Eagles but it has definitely made the biggest contribution to the franchise.…

Five years after the MOVE incident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, writer and professor at Brown University John Edgar Wideman wrote Philadelphia Fire. The novel is centered on the 1985 bombing of John Africa’s MOVE organization by the Philadelphia police and fire department, an attack that destroyed over fifty homes and killed eleven people. One of the main themes of this novel is the lost generation of American youth. On the surface, Whiteman tells the story of the events of that day but goes further in depth by exploring the perspective of Cudjoe, a black novelist in the novel. Philadelphia Fire was generally well received after the initial publication by the public but also brought up questions about the events of that day. My essay will examine two sections of Philadelphia Fire and expose how they apply to the novel in its entirety.…

Sports are an intimate part of many people’s lives. Without it, many of us would not share certain relationships or bonds with people who like it as much as we do. Football is indeed my favorite sport to watch. From the touchdown dances to seeing a favorite player break a record, football is intense, exciting, and amusing to watch. Football teams can define the character of certain regions and places (Sports and Recreation, 2004). In good old Minnesota, we “bleed purple” and love our Minnesota Vikings. Although the Vikings have never won the Super Bowl, we still love them regardless because of their hard work and dedication to the sport and to the fans. The whole organization behaves in a manner that keeps the fans coming back for more, as do other National Football League teams around the United States. The National Football League and its teams need to have spot-on organizational skills. If there is not proper organizational…

It aggravates me especially when the bandwagoners talk about how good “their” team is. It makes me wanna fight them, but instead I just ask them to name how long they were fans of that team and if they can name me that team’s roster or record before they were good. Usually I get the replies of “It doesn’t matter, we’re good now.” or “You’re just asking that because my team is better than yours.” Well of course your team is probably better than mine, but at least I’m a loyal member to my team win or lose. I remember going onto Twitter and reading some guy say “It was a nice few years being a Miami heat fan, now Imma go look for the next best team to like.” No, I didn’t paraphrase that. He actually did say that statement word for word. Don’t get me wrong, there are loyal fans that have liked them before they were good, and then that team became good, but those are very rare occurrences nowadays. I can relate in that I’m a…

Nothing says football to me like, the smell of my mom's famous hot wings frying or dressing up in purple and gold to cheer on my beloved Minnesota Vikings. I have learned through my years of cheering for the team, that being a Vikings fan means putting up with those “Cheese-heads” from the state next door. I believe the Vikings vs. Packers rivalry is one of the greatest in the NFL. I've found this to be true not only through my family traditions, but also from witnessing player and fan behaviors, and simply the geographic placement of these two bordering states on the map.…

My favorite team is Manchester United, currently the best club in the world. Tghis is because I live only a few miles away from Old Trafford, their famous ground. It was not always so though, but I pride myself in having supported them since 1955, having watched them through both good and bad times. Because of this I do not consider myself a 'fair weather fan', in other words one who just supports a successful team.…

We pick the ones that will let us win vicariously, so that we may feel a sense of pride when they win. Picking a winning team brings us pride, but often picking a losing team will bring us more pride when they do well then a team that often wins. When someone’s favorite team is the Patriots, they often get upset when they lose. Cheering for a team that loses so often makes me even more excited when they win. Picking a team that is an underdog builds acceptance when they lose but feel pride when they beat a team that out ranks them. Being supportive of the Browns when they are at their worst will one day be more rewarding to me than cheering only for the winners. Even though it has been a long road full of upset, I believe that the Browns win the Super Bowl one day and I will be able to say that I believed in…
