Motivation
Have you ever had someone you look up to for everything, or someone who has been a big influence in your life? My brother has always been there for me through thick and thin, he has always given me someone to look up to, and he has always been very influential and motivational towards me. My brother motivates and influences in me in a way that is not very common to others, but I believe that has made me who I am today.
When I was growing up I had a very serious lung infection, and many of the doctors believed that I wouldn’t make it. I lost a lot of weight as a young child and was very unhealthy for a long time. But, I made it through, and I eventually started to get my eating and protein levels back to normal. After a while, I got into a habit of overeating because it seemed natural to me and I started to gain weight.
Gaining the weight for me was useful for my freshman year when I started wrestling. I wasn’t successful at first, until my brother started helping me try to lose the weight. But he didn’t only help me by taking me to the gym and helping me push through the cardio, or even helping me lift weights. The thing that he did that helped me the most was call me names and put me down and tell me I wasn’t good enough. This may seem very harsh, but by my sophomore year in high school wrestling, I was very well built and very strong. I even took second in state!
My brother helped me to lose the weight to help me become the person I wanted to be. He helped motivate me to push myself through any obstacle and be strong even when someone is pushing you down. He taught me to never give up on myself or things that I’m doing, and I believe that’s why I am who I am today. My brother has made me into a person I love and I have and always will look up to him for how he helped change my life, even if it may have hurt my feelings or made me sad or depressed, he has made me into a very strong person. I am told that I have the best work ethic

According to the article, “Keystone XL: The Pipeline To Energy Security”, “The Keystone XL Pipeline ("Keystone XL") represents one of the most promising economic opportunities currently available” (Terry, 2012). The quote above is very much what the people of the United States would unarguably desire to hear. So the question is: What is the Keystone Pipeline, and where will it be located? The answer to the first question is, The Keystone pipeline system consists of existing and proposed pipelines and related facilities that carry crude oil from the tar sands of the West Canadian Sedimentary Basin ("WCSB") around Hardisty, Alberta, Canada to refining markets in the United States” (Slade, 2012). Also, “The Keystone XL Pipeline Project is a proposed 1,179-mile (1,897 km), 36-inch-diameter crude oil pipeline, beginning in Hardisty, Alta., and extending south to Steele City, Neb. This pipeline is a critical infrastructure project for the energy security of the United States and for strengthening the American economy” (TransCanada, 2012).…

One who believes in a theistic god believes that god commits no evil and will only grant good to his people on earth. In order for this to be possible the world that we live in would have to be a beautiful place to live. When we look at the world that we live in, the last thing that we see is a perfect place to live. With that being true then it makes it very hard to believe that the god we believe in is anything close to perfect. To help show how imperfect our world is Philo (created dialogue by Hume) compares our universe to a very ugly palace. He goes on to explain that we cannot argue that the architect of the palace is not talented and that he might have had some limitations in what he could build, but if he was perfect he would of found a way to make his palace not ugly.…

One laudable characteristic of my brother is he is caring. On one occasion, we were in Miami on a delightful day. We rented a jet ski for an hour. After about half an hour we tried to make a tight turn but it was too tight. The Jet Ski capsized and faster than we realized it, we were swimming in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. My brother was the first to react and started chasing the Jet Ski as it was roaming off. When he finally stopped it, he could have just gone and left me. Instead he brought it towards me and helped me on. At the time it didn’t seem like a big thing but that could’ve been the difference between life and death.…

Growing up wasn’t always the easiest thing to do in my life. There always seemed to be something to derail it as soon as it was going well, when I was younger there was never much money and although my mother tried to be there, suffering from a mental illness sometimes made it difficult. The only constant was my little brother Joshua; he was there through everything and was there to talk to when things got just a little too much to handle. Although some people are never close with their siblings, having a sibling to share life experiences with is rewarding and beneficial to personal and social development.…

I was not thrust into this world with a silver spoon in mouth nor born with amazing talents wired into my DNA. No, instead I was given two amazing role models who have taught me hard work really does prosper in this world and that if I really want something bad enough I’m going to have to work at it hard enough. My parents have shown me that by their work ethic and lifestyle. My parents aren’t the only people in my life that have given me gifts that have built me to who I am today; my brother has taught me a great gift in patience. It may not seem like a gift, but in learning to get along with him and in learning to share as in our fights over beloved toys, I realize he has given me something I can use in all situations and yet take years to master. My greatest influences may not be super heroes, rich or famous but they are who made me who I am today, my family.…

One of the most important people who influence my life and makes me me today is my brother. No matter when I got into troubles or seem to get into one, he has always been there to help me. He gets really strict with my homework and my grades more than my parents do. I remember when I was in kindergarten till grade 2 my brother would always search my school bag and read the homework book. He would then took out my homework and teach it to me. If there are some questions that he couldn’t do it too, he would keep it and ask mum later. After he left for England, I became very lazy and hardly did any homework at all. I got scolded by him through phone many times about it too. He has always been a very good brother to me and has taken care of me. That is why he is my role model and I love him the most. I admire my brother because he always managed to make things seem better. He managed to go to school and work at the same time. I knew he got tired but he never complained. He would always remind me why he did what he did. I was always his reason. He always wanted the best for me. My brother practically did the job my dad was never able to do. Oscar always gave me advice. He would always tell me “Life is a rollercoaster full of ups and downs”. He showed me right from wrong. Oscar was a great example of a student, brother, and father.…

Although very annoying, my brother is still valuable company that some people don’t have. I cannot think of a life without my brother. It would have been pretty boring to miss out on all the “fun”. Teasing, fighting, laughing at each other’s blunderings; it would all be a dream. I will also become a little bit lonely, causing me to become aloof more often than right now. So if I think of it that way, my brother has helped me become more communicative.…
