The Nutcracker Have you ever wanted to watch a heartfelt tale about a girl and her nutcracker? Have you ever wanted to see the Sugar plum Fairy or Snow Queen dance beautifully? Have you ever wanted to see a beautiful story only told by dancing, because no words were needed? I was given the opportunity to watch this wonderful ballet last Saturday. The Nutcracker was filled with several beautiful dancers and dance moves. The show was directed by Cheri Lindell, and danced by several Dance Center North dancers. The main characters of the show included Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Snow Queen, the Nutcracker and several more. It was a wonderful experience in which I had seen several of my friends dance. I am good friends with several girls that had dance in this show including Kelly Vogel, Ellen Barhorst, Abby Paulson, and Emily Smith. Most of my friends had minor roles including Marzipan, the Maid, the Sugar Plum Court. Although they all danced beautifully, Emily Smith had stood out to me the most. She danced her parts with grace and accuracy! Watching her makes me want to hop on stage and dance along.
The story of the Nutcracker is a very traditional story. It is a story about a girl and her toy that she recently was given for Christmas. The Nutcracker was magical and protected her from evil mice. Also, it took her on adventure to The Snow Forest and The Kingdom of the Sweets. It is a breathtaking and lovely story that is age appropriate and entertaining for all

I am writing a critical analysis on Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, a holiday classic. When thinking of The Nutcracker you cannot help, but get into the holiday spirit. Other than the holiday spirt it is a beautiful classical piece, full of highly theatrical scenes. The genre of The Nutcracker is of course ballet, which is considered a classical or formal dance. Ballet has gone through many changes since the 17th century, and continues to transform. But, one thing you cannot deny with ballet is the…

During the Nutcracker I recognized some of the music through out the show. It was classic music that played. The Nutcracker reminded me of the music we listen to in class when we were learning about there romantic period. I thought that the dancing was very pretty and went along with the music very well. I was amazed how you could hear all the different instruments during the show. I personally heard the violin a, flute, cello, clarinet, horns, trumpets, trombones, and also I heard the string family…

been dancing in the Nutcracker with The Columbus Ballet since I was eight years old. When I was younger, I always dreamed of dancing a solo performance when I got older. In 2015, I finally got that chance. Although it wasn’t perfect, my first solo in the Nutcracker was just as exciting as I thought it would be as a young dancer. At the beginning of my freshman year, me and all the other dancers at the Columbus Ballet finally got to see which part we would play in the Nutcracker. I had never done…
