The Notebook is one of my favorite love movies of all time. The reason I love this movie so much is because that main characters Noah and Allie go through so many trials and finally end up together in the end. This movie I feel shows me how strong their love for each other really was and I now feel as if it is meant to be it will always find a way. Looking at the movie as a reference to get a better understanding of how lifespan development works, I realized that most of the trials that Noah and Allie went though were part of stages of development. The theory of stages of development was created by Erik Erikson, he believes that we go though certain stages in our life and if we do not get passed them properly we will end up with underdeveloped skills in our lives. The Notebook has many different stages that the main characters go though such as, stage eight, integrity vs. despair, stage five, identity vs. identity confusion, and stage six, intimacy vs. isolation.…

The Outsiders is both a great book and a great movie. Although they are both very great, they are not completely the same, or completely different. A book that turns into a movie usually has way more information because the person writing the book isn’t just going to make it a movie line for line. The movie “The Outsiders” doesn’t work like that though. The book and the movie are about as close to line for line as you can possibly get. They have to add some scenes in movie to explain the thinking of the characters, but they also have to subtract scenes from the book to shorten the movie. The book, The Outsiders, and the movie, “The Outsiders,” are alike in many ways.…

Usually, movies like this would end like the boy gets the girl. That even the girl did not want a serious relationship or did not believe in love at first, in the end it will all change and they’ll live happily ever after. Instead they showed how people or rather the guy struggle to go through his life after his dream girl dumped him. I think that’s their unique selling point. Showing the realness, the real struggle and the choices we make in life. Either give in with the pain or let go and move on. Which is too embarrassing for anyone to share, but this film will make people realize that they’re not alone and that it is normal.…

The name of the movie I have chosen is The Outsiders. The reason why I chose this movie is because it was one of my favorite movies to watch when I was in middle school. I remember in middle school that I was in a reading and writing class where the teacher provided students several books to read together as a class and The Outsiders was one of the novels. I always had an issue with reading since I was kid even today in college because I have a reading comprehension disability where I have a hard time remembering what I read as well as having trouble pronouncing words. This was such an awesome book and for the first time I was able to understand the whole story. The whole class actually enjoyed reading this book. Whenever the class finishes…

The Notebook is a movie in which the main character Allie has Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is marked by forgetting and repeating things, getting lost and confused, difficulties recognizing persons and objects. Symptoms usually appear after age sixty. Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging and the cause is yet unknown. Alzheimer's disease is the fourth leading cause of death among adults and at present there is no known cure. The story begins in a nursing home where Allie and Noah (Allie's husband) stay. Allie needs to be there for care, but Noah doesn't. He stays to help care for her. He reads to her from a notebook about their life together. He hopes this will help her remember him, because her disease has progressed so that she doesn't remember him or her children. Allie believes that Noah's name is Duke; he tells her that because of the confusion which Alzheimer's disease causes she believes that this is a story about another couple. Noah reads that he fell in love with Allie at first site, but her parents say he is not good enough for her. Her family leaves town, and she starts college and he goes off to war. He writes to her every day for a year, but her parents keep the letters. She gets engaged, he works on a plantation house and fixes it up the way Allie wanted it. He hopes she will come back to him. She sees his picture in the paper with the house and decides to go see him before she gets married. They find the are still in love. Allie is torn between here fiancé and Noah. Foreshadowing is a literary device in which an author drops subtle hints about plot developments to come later in the story. An example of foreshadowing might be when a character displays a gun or knife early in the story. Merely the appearance of a deadly weapon, even though it is used for an innocuous purpose — such as being cleaned or whittling wood — suggests terrible consequences later on.…

The word Hero is defined as “a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life.” The main character and narrator, Amir, shows traits of heroism in the novel many times mostly near the second half of the novel when he risks is own safety to return to Afghanistan to aid his father’s sick friend, or when he selflessly gives Wahid’s children money and his own watch. On the other hand Amir also plays the role of Antihero. Antihero is defined as “a main character in a dramatic or narrative work who is characterized by a lack of traditional heroic qualities, such as idealism or courage.” Antiheroic traits are also portrayed in this novel by Amir when he does not stand up for himself and just allows Hassan to defend him. Also when he hides as his supposed best friend gets raped by the local bully. These two, usually contradicting statements and traits are put into somewhat of a perfect balance in this novel; I believe to show like Amir, humans are not perfect.…
