The Nissan GTR): How Godzilla Got His Name?
How Godzilla got his Name For many generations the Nissan GT-R has inspired all ages to dream big, both in comfort, speed as well as luxury. We will be looking into the reasons Godzilla has made a name for itself both in racing and the hearts of people all around the world... There is a long history of the Skyline stretching back to the late 1950’s when the Nissan was only known as a sedan, but the GT-R first debuted at a Tokyo Motor Show in 1968 built by the Prince Motor Company and later on it was bought out by Nissan. It was the first generation of a long line of amazing cars to come making a 160 horsepower and a top speed of 124 mph, she could corner too. The R32 features a legendary GT-R engine, the RB26DETT, an amazing turbocharged, 6 cylinder, HICAS steering system and all wheel drive making this Skyline a track monster. The R32 put out a whooping 280 bhp, and i could make a quarter mile in 13 seconds and do zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds. Legend has it that the chief designer and engineer, Shurei did not reveal to anyone that this would be the first skyline wear the GT-R banner. There was a specific version of the R32 built for FIA Group A racing which was a 24 hour race. Engineers modified the car to put out 550 hp which is astonishing for the time period it was made in. there would be a total of 43,394 production cars …show more content…

The most popular nickname for the Skyline GT-R is “Godzilla”. I like to call it the “King Of The Streets” though because of its Japanese origin and its immense power. You must be wondering why it’s nicknamed the “Godzilla”. The reason being is that in the 1990 Australian Car Championship, Nissan’s R32 GT-R won the race and knocked the, in my opinion, retarded Ford Sierra off the podium that it held for a small amount of time. Ryan McElroy, contributor of Car Keys claims that, “From 1991, Australia was the GT-R’s first export market, and after it knocked the venerable Ford Sierra Cosworth off the podium at the Australian Touring Car Championship, Australian press started to refer to it as “Godzilla, the monster from…

To prove his point and nail home the idea, Smith utilizes many different achievements of the Bugatti such as it being “the quickest, fastest, most expensive, and most evolved thing on wheels. “ Smith explains how the Veyron was originally a concept car, however after an incredible amount of demand for it, Volkswagen agreed it had to be built. Their goal was to reach new heights with this car, “A top speed above 248 mph. An engine producing more than 1,000 horsepower. A 0-to-62-mph time of less than three seconds, and a chassis that didn’t abuse you like a racing car.”…

Ford and Chevy are as American as apple pie. However, as any car fanatic knows. They are as big of rivals as the North and the South used to be. Two rival models of Ford and Chevy, in particular, is the Ford Mustang Shelby GT and the Chevy ZL1 Camaro. The Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang are quintessential American pony cars and as such, continue to fight the war over which sport utility vehicle is the best in performance. I recently became interested in cars and the whole racing aspects of them because my best friend races once in a while. He is extremely knowledgeable and interested in cars and can tell which car is the best. Becoming a huge car fanatic like him, I have to “pick a side” and decide which car I would go with the Mustang or the Camaro. The two features that I would take in to consideration in deciding which car is better than the other one is the performance that it has to offer and the style that it resembles.…

In keeping with original exterior body style of this American icon, the redesign captures the curvature with subtle softening of the contour. The front end design integrity has been protected by keeping the original round headlights inset into the grill. The integrity was also well maintained in providing the same style of tail light to match that of the older counterpart. Another aspect that has held the integrity of the original 1960’s model is performance. The performance of the 6.4 liter 470 horsepower 2010 model still provides the sought after horsepower of 1960’s model. This model also provides maximum acceleration in keeping with the older counterpart. In today’s times, the 2010 provides that same stigma as the older counterpart as the muscle care of this day and…

The Japanese-market cars were launched during the 1970s. In the United States, the Corolla grew in popularity and the Corona model debuted as well. The successful Celica sports coupe was also rolled out and would remain in production for more than 30 years. This was my first Toyota model I purchased in 1987. It was a yellow, 5-speed transmission, 2-door, four cylinders with around 100,000 miles. I drove the car for 8 years: from Columbia to Florence, SC for the first six years; then from Columbia, SC to Charlotte, NC, for a year and a half, then after, until I sold it with over 300,000 miles on it. Those experiences sealed me as a Toyota model customer.…

When Infiniti brought out the G35 sport sedan and sport coupe four years ago; it was easy to see who the company was going after. With its powerful six-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive and finely balanced, sport-tuned chassis, the G35 didn't gingerly dip its toe into the entry-level luxury sport sedan/coupe waters. Rather, it took a flying leap, did a cannonball and splashed cold water all over the BMW 3 Series.…

The car went to a top speed of 45 mph top speed, which was unthinkable at this point in time. Gasoline powered made it capable of getting a total of 25 mpg, the car was not only functional but very productive. Because gasoline was fed to the engine only by gravity, and also because the reverse gear offered more power than the forward gears, the Model T frequently had to be driven up a steep hill backward. Model T's started with crank handle inserted just below the radiator. The driving aspect of the T was very good because they were built strong and could last in some tough conditions. The car had a high clearance, which meant it sat up higher than before. Looks were not what Ford focused on, he only used a plain black paint finish because it was cheap and would not chip. The frame was made to last and not wear down with having wheels of wood, tires of rubber, had axles of steel, hardened with vanadium. These newly used materials made the car lighter but also stronger than its…

The 1987 Ford Mustang GT has the same engine mill, so it was bound to make this list also.
