Rap and Hip-Hop music has been around since Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five with their track, The Message. Music in general is a major influence in a child's or teenager’s life. Some reasons why people think rap is a bad influence is the how blacks are dominant in the Rap genre. Hip-Hop and Rap talk about experiences of teens growing up in areas where music can look to be the only ways out of poverty. Rap didn't create the ghetto. It just talks about it. This is because most blacks are the ones that live in poverty. There is also other kinds of lyrics in rap and hip-hop. For example, the rapper Logic. He is a rapper that raps about his childhood and that he had abusive parents and his siblings sold drugs and were in the streets. He also raps about women and sex but he does this to expand his fanbase and have some of his music in clubs to dance to. Many rappers do this like, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Those are just a couple of rappers. Most of their music has lyrics that don’t talk about sex and drugs, but most people only notice the songs that
