The social phenomenon I am writing about is Racial Profiling because it’s a very popular and important phenomenon to talk about, especially all the things going on around the world now that’s causing racial profiling more dangerous. It's really important to study since a lot of racial profiling goes on because people been racial profiling since a long time and still going on. Media has a lot of effect of racial profiling since everybody watches media and believes everything they say something bad about a person from a certain race and ethnicity so they start racial profiling the whole religion, race and ethnicity and that’s not right.The way Racial Profiling relates to sociology is because it has race and ethnicity and Chapter 10 talk about
It also explains how racial profiling causes people to have less opportunities and less jobs for example in Marxist point of view " racism keeps minorities in low-paying jobs, thereby supplying the capitalist ruling with a pool of cheap labor. Moreover by forcing racial minorities to accept low wages. Dominant Group they get more opportunities, jobs and they can restrict whenever they want because they can. Minorities they can't because they are forced to accept what they get offered no matter if they don’t like it they can't restrict it for example in Marxist point of view Capitalist can restrict the wages of all members of the proletariat. Workers from the dominant group who demand higher wages can always be replaced by minorities who have no choice but to accept low-paying
Most people might look down at certain race and people but eventually as time passes they realize that they need each other strengths, talents and abilities to work together. People judge certain people because of their race, they might not say it to their face but they look at them and think they are weak. They can't do that, they don't have the strength and ability to do things because they are certain race. Interactionalist Perspective don't have hard time explaining Racial Profiling because it explains how not everybody is racist and racial profiling. Some people might start of as racial profile but them stop and change their mind because they realize how good people are from certain race and ethnicity.
