Which can be described by ageism which is defined as the prejudice and discrimination directed at older people. Some examples of the most common stereotypes are that it is almost impossible for the average old person to learn something new, Older workers usually cannot work as effectively as younger works, and that at least one-tenth of the aged are living in long-stay institution such as nursing homes. Ageism, according to Berger, (2008) is a prejudice in which people are categorized and judged solely based on their age. During late adulthood senses and motor functions have deteriorated much more than in middle adulthood, which may lead to stereotypes. For example, one was driving on the freeway in the fast lane and comes up behind a car traveling at a much slower speed.
