The Myall Creek Massacre
Place and Time
The Myall creek massacre happened near the Gwydir River, in the central New South Wales district of Namoi. It happened on the 10 June, 1838 at Myall creek.
The Kamilaroi Nation
The Weraerai tribe of the Kamilaroi nation were the tribe involved in this conflict. At the Myall creek station there were mainly older men, women because several days before the massacre, 10 of the most able-bodied men had gone to a station about 24 kilometres away, named Newtons on the big River, where they had been employed by the station manager.
The White Settlers
The white Settlers were the newly settled Europeans, “white people”. They had come over to Australia, just 51 years ago, with convicts and were here to expand the European Empire, so Europe
