The Music Man Response
‘’The Music man’’ Response ‘’The music man" is a play that was written for entertainment to make people laugh which is a good thing, because it helps to release stress. The play was not just entertaining it was romantic, touching and unique from other musical plays I have seen. Yes, the play was not based on realism, for example in real life we don't see people doing choreography with the same moves.
It’s funny because I still saw some real life situation in the play portrayed this in a non-realistic way which made it feel like some life situation can be viewed from a different perspective. Most of the time we view life in just one way but the play made it seemed like sometimes our non-realistic thought about

His plan is to order uniforms, which take about four weeks to arrive, collect the money, and skip town. But his plan encounters a massive roadblock when he falls in love with the skeptical and calculating Marion Paroo, the town's librarian.…

Characters in both of the plays must choose between following what society says is the right thing to do and following what they believe in their hearts to be the right thing to do. Often, choosing to follow the conscience is the more difficult road to walk. For one of the two plays, identify the difficult choices the characters make and analyze the effects that these choices have on the characters’ lives…

It brings in to play that every decision that you or I is making, right now, could be affecting the way that we live out the rest of our lives. In the same way that a small decision can negatively impact a person… the opposite can be true as well. The author Wes Moore lived in a neighborhood with just as much of a drug influence as the other… yet somehow he managed to disconnect himself from it and thrive in his situation. Both the author and the other had mothers who wanted the best for their sons… with absent father figures. The idea that a single parent could put everything they had into their kid is really inspirational. The other Wes Moore’s mother, Mary, worked hard to keep her kids in comfort, but her efforts ended up fruitless. The author Wes Moore’s mother Joy, worked multiple jobs in order to send him to a private school… and that ended up making all the difference in his life. He was forced to work harder and become interested in school, and he put his energy into more productive things such as basketball, or hanging out with friends, but he never let it get to the point where he was roped into the drug game. “The chilling truth is that his story could have been mine. The tragedy is that my story could have been his.” I agree with this statement, and I think that the story “The…

This conflict between truth and appearance is illuminated in Act 3 Scene 2 via the 'play within the play'. The 'acting on all levels' in this scene causes the play to become highly reflexive and meta-theatrical, audiences are alerted to its constructed nature as "twere a mirror up to nature" yet also cautioning audiences over the "masks" that are constructed by people to disguise truth. The scene's reflexive and modernist techniques allow us to contemplate upon the nature of 'appearances' demonstrating the iconic relevancy of the…

The play takes place in a small community where they stay local and don’t really do much traveling. To my knowledge this is exactly what people back then did, They relied on others to have fun and entertainment. The play also portrays our modern day life also. The first act was named daily life, the second act was about love and marriage, and the third act was named death. This is what every ones lives are like. This play makes me open my mind to the real world. I believe now that everyone goes through, daily life, until they find there true love, and then sadly enough you die.I would absolutely recommend the play to people because people take advantage of life and, I feel if they read this play they might realize life is too short. They might change their lives around and make their lives…

People choose to live their lives their own way and some of these people end up unhappy, and feel that their life is not worth living. The choice a person makes on how they want to live their life, ultimately determines their future. A person should choose to live in an illusion which leads to hope, rather then reality which leads them to despair. The musical play "Man of La Mancha", written by Dale Wasserman, is a perfect example of this because in the play, there are characters who live in illusion and characters who live in reality. Illusion leads a person to hope, and hope gives a person something to live for. One persons hope can inspire another to change and to believe. Reality can lead a person to despair, which can lead that person to depression, second guessing themselves and their lives. In the play, some characters go through the transformation from reality to illusion which betters their lives.…
