The Monkey's Paw By W. Jacobs
In literature, as in life, things are not always what they appear to be. Most short stories from this unit support this statement. The Monkey's Paw, by W. W. Jacobs, is a short story about Mr. and Mrs. White, who adored their only son Herbert, and lived a happy life. There expectations of wishes on the monkey's paw were different than the reality.
All the Whites didn't believe in the monkey's paw, but were intrigued. Herbert thinks it would be a good idea to see if it would work so he suggested￡200. Mr. White also wanted to get rid of his mortgage, and wished on the monkey's paw thinking it was a great idea. It was ironic that Herbert died and they got a compensation of￡200. Mrs. White wanted her son back like any mother, and told Mr. White

    A quick synopsis of the film Monkey’s Paw is that the main character, Jake, is presented with a monkey’s paw that that offers him a chance to make three wishes after he loses his job at a warehouse. The main character in the film is Jake Tilton, played by Thomason C. J. Jake is a warehouse employee.
