The Modest Room: A Narrative Fiction
I lay patiently on the cracked leather chaise longue. The modest room was a fading cream colour, books line the wall near my feet in an ornate shelf, a small desk and chair sit by the wall opposite me next to the iron door, there is a single swinging light in the middle of the room which casts a golden glow over everything and a painting of a sailing ship hangs above me.

A sinewy man materializes before the door wearing a long white lab coat with a blue shirt and white tie. He grabs the iron chair by the door and yanks the chair over to me and sits down. He looks down at the sheet of paper on his clipboard,
"Good evening Mr. Robert, we shall proceed".
"Is there any wrong at the moment, Mr. Robert?"
"My legs and arms feel heavy Doc", I reply slightly concerned.

"Well, that's a surprise Robert after all they sent you to an asylum".
"Huh? No, I'm just here for a check-up after the incident". "You're right Robert I just tested your sanity", the doctor chuckles. "Ok Robert the session is over you may get up and leave". "That was quick, I'm

Many critics have elaborated on the protagonist's fixation on male sexual dominance and his voyeurism. Many see the film as simply a way for the male cinema spectator to join the simulated spectacle of the film as the protagonist views the many ongoing stories through his neighbor's windows.…
