The Maze Reflection

The Maze Game I wanted to do a game that would involve the entire class and a game that would get giggles out of students. There was only a limited amount of time so the game had to consist of only three volunteers. I could’ve squeezed one more volunteer, but it was too risky and I could’ve gone overboard with the time that was given. The game turned out quite different than the outline. The outline was organized in a way that only the three volunteers would participate, but it turned out that everyone put in some effort to make the game fun for the whole class. When one of the volunteers entered, everyone cheered them on and gave that person confidence in what they were about to do! They all started off right but then the whole class began to distract them and they kept running into desks and dead ends. This is what made the whole class participate and have fun. By the second person, there were now people lying on the ground so the volunteers would trip and fall (which was hilarious). There was one time where a volunteer was having a very difficult time getting across so I helped and I fell down because I, myself, tripped over Kiki I believe. When she was standing up off of the ground, she then hit my chin and I bit my tongue, which hurt a lot, but it got the whole class to laugh. Overall this was a fun game and I really liked how the whole class was involved and I like to see this in student council because we should all feel like family and have fun together because that’s what leaders of the school should be like-everyone getting along and having a great time together. The only thing I would change for the next time would be to have a little bit more time to involve more people because most of the class wanted to be the blindfolded person.

This particular event happened during lunch time. Some of my classmates had finished eating, and one in particular, Nick, had decided to play with some of his friends around a tree stump. Nick, being the troublemaker that he was, decided to mess around with the tree stump itself. He kicked it, and his buddies laughed. They all started to mess around with it.…

Blue’s class she reminded them of the Bill Nye video that they had watch, and the kids remember lots of things from the video. This was a great way to get the students engaged and to help with a visual representation. She also gave each of them a chance to explain their reason and definitions with the whole class. She kept the students engaged by having them all take turns reading and highlight as they went along. Her role was to present questions for the students, who were to think about the answer and then share with one another. It was a good idea to spilt the students in to partners to discuss. In Mr. G’s he explained that the students had only been giving him work that was about fifty percent effort. He did allow for students to take out there phone and take pictures of the board to make sure they had the information. They also were very good at reading along with him and answering his questions out of the book. I think it was a good idea to get the students more engaged in the learning process, by working in smaller groups together. These are both great examples of their responsibility as a teacher to create good creative and instructive…

This has been done many times and has come up with good results. Students no matter how ridiculous the assignment given to them by their instructor will do it anyway. The game will take no longer than 10 minutes and involves no more than a pen and paper of the students. It is best to do the game after the students have had a few classes, so that rapport with students and credibility with a teacher has time to develop (Winston 2). At the beginning of class the instructor will give the instructions for the assignment and the supplies the students need to get out for it. After the assignment the instructor will talk to the class about the assignment and what they thought about it. The instructor then asks the class if they wanted to do the assignment and all of they shouted out no. The only reason they did it was because a teacher made the request and so they obeyed it. After all of this the students understand the notion of power and that they will obey the request of those who control their grades. Do all students do what their teacher asks no matter how outrageous the assignment may…

Teamwork, critical thinking, and strategy is what makes up this game. Teamwork is working well with others. For a team to work well each member of the group must understand the qualities of each other. They must apprehend that there can be multiple answer for one problem, that’s critical thinking. With critical thinking comes strategy. Strategy gives individuals direction and it sketches out a goal. The goal in game is obvious to capture the flag. There are different ways in capturing the flag, as the children realize that they plan accordingly. They look at each other strength and weakness to pick out which position their qualified for. Capture the flag helps children to see the importance in teamwork, critical thinking and strategy. It prepares them how to live among their…

“The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls is an extremely intriguing novel that really kept my attention throughout the whole story. The Walls family is definitely one that is unlike any I’ve ever come across, and the lessons that the children learned were ones that helped shaped their lives and made them who they are today. Jeanette obviously learned so much from her experience that she wrote a whole book about it, managing to hold the reader’s attention through all 281 pages. Jeanette Walls goes through many descriptions of situations that she faced that people normally should not face. For most of her childhood, she was traveling from place to place because her parents always thought that they would hit it big and never finding a steady job.…

Last week in class we read the Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. The book showed what's it’s like to overcome adversity at anytime even when times are bad Jeannette Walls overcame her father's alcoholism and her mother's psychoness. The family was also going through a financial crisis so with the weight of everything on her she had to get over so much for her to be able to succeed in her later life. Jeanette was a very strong and determined person and she didn’t allow herself to use the homelessness or her father’s alcohol problems but more as opportunities. She felt as if the hardships were making her who she was and it allowed her to become such a strong and humble person. I have had much adversity but this was the hardest for me. A couple…

It was blatantly obvious these city council meetings are not very well attended. I think that the presence that my friends and I had at the event was very rewarding to the council. It showed that there are students in our schools who actually care about the issues in our community and that it is in good hands for the future. We talked with mayor Ken Roth before and after the meeting. He was very gracious our presence at the meeting.…

My sophomore year I was part of a group call the kindness committee. Our group’s goal was to spread kindness around our school campus. We did this by making posters and starting a game that challenged our classmates to do certain tasks like “Give 5 complements today,” “Sit with someone new at lunch,” and “Say hi to someone new.” We started this committee in our leadership class, obtained our goal, and continued spreading kindness the rest of the year.…

This was very interesting to watch. Their routine was to come in the class get settled and a student goes to the “Helping Hands” board and read off the assignment duties for the week. In regards to the rules, they knew to raise their hands to be recognized by the teacher. Should a student finish their work ahead of everyone they are to get additional work out of the remediation box. The thing that was truly amazing was they would cheer for their fellow classmates and say “good job and/or goog try”. They were very encouraging towards each other.…
