The Loathe Of Us Immigrants
The intelligence that you’ve had ever since childhood is beyond any wise men’s wisdom and that my friend, or preferably, mother, can take you very far in life. Whether that life will continue to be in your small hometown of Ghana, or across the ocean to somewhere big like America. Just know that no matter where you end up, you'll always be a genius. Recently here in America, many citizens are still in loathe of us immigrants, especially the president, Trump. He dislikes the fact that different backgrounds are flourishing in this country and will stop at nothing until we're all gone. He criticizes all of us together with one’s mistake and label us, “rapists and criminals” even though he has no idea why most of us choose to come because some are here as refugees escaping from violent places to seek safety, while the majority of us like you and I, mom, are hoping to pursue the American Dream by working hard day and night until it becomes a reality. …show more content…
This sort of mindset is the reason why many doors and opportunities come their way so Trump needs to stop saying that complaining that American jobs are being stolen because if the Americans truly want those jobs, then next time, they will fight as hard as the immigrants did for

“is a nation of immigrants, but also a nation of laws, and these concepts are not mutually exclusive.” To suggest that the U.S. currently lacks laws regarding immigration and that President Trump’s failed immigration order would fill this void is highly irrational and ignores concrete immigration policy. Stewart further suggests that “we should never underestimate the unimaginable devastation that can result from a small number of [immigrants] driven by hatred.” “National security and public safety,” he writes, are “the preeminent functions of government.”…

In Herbert E. Meyer’s article “Why Americans Hate This ‘Immigration’ Debate” he talks about how immigration has always been a big talk among congressmen and American voters for a long time. What the Democrats and Republicans bring to the table is not what Americans want done. When Meyer tells us about immigration he states, “You come here with absolutely nothing except a burning desire to be an American,” which is why we find so many people of the Hispanic decent taking low paying jobs (Meyer 70). Meyer explains the reason the immigrants do this is so they can put a roof over their family’s heads and provided a source of food. Immigrants even make sure when their kids are in school they get the best possible grades so their kids will succeed…

Although, I fundamentally disagree with the recent executive orders of our president. I acknowledge that migration is made up of an interconnected web of socioeconomic and political factors that makes the process complicated. With this in mind, closing off the borders of the U.S to refugees and immigrants may or may not lead to changes in safety but, one thing is certain, alienation and isolation of a specific group will spark outrage and create greater division in this country. Armed with knowledge and facts are the only way to combat against ignorance, prejudice and to avoid turning a blind eye. My hope is that some day soon clandestine migration will be a thing of the past and that finding a home away from home will not be so…

Immigrants are the least appreciated in this country, which is the most ironic thing considering that this country is only really made up of immigrants. Having blond hair and blue eyes doesn’t mean anything, because European settlers came from Europe, not America. The only real people that belong in america are the native indigenous people of the americas. Yet, that’s what immigrants have to be to be accepted into a world where these traits are so valued, a common norm, as if the world revolved around them,to simply try to be “white” in a place that isn’t even white to begin with. The fear that runs in the blood of immigrants comes from the fear that they not only will be ridiculed but will be killed for being who they are. The tone an immigrant mother makes to warn her children that different is unacceptable, that your culture should be kept but not “overdone.” Your language is to be spoken but only in certain situations, and in front of other people, it will be seen as rude. It’s baffling to only hear that the people who only come here to be better people and find better opportunities are only dismissed as scum and no better than the rich privileged people we call the face of our country. Times have changed, The United States isn’t as racist, but that doesn’t make it any better if you’ve been keeping up with politics or…

Tension among white Americans and immigrants has always been evident, however, the nationalistic standpoint on this issue has become increasingly vocal since the recent election. Nationalistic political actions, specifically the increase of deportation, forces America to take a step back from the modern world, which will subsequently deplete them. Recently, U.S. president, Donald Trump announced that the administration would be ending DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, created by the former president, Barak Obama (Kopan 2017). Mixed responses were received following the announcement; 71% of Republicans who support Trump believed it to be just while the rest were against so (Kurtzleben 2017). Hobsbawm (1992: 170) commented that nationalism…

The sweat and revenue immigrants bring into America is fruitless when the Xenophobia mindset forbids Americans from moving forward and accepting fruitful foreigners. We saw this embedded in the minds of the locals and the police in John Steinbeck’s , The grapes of wrath and now in Donald Trump’s ‘Make America again’. This campaign includes plans like building a wall along the mexican-american border, extreme vetting, and closing the doors on all syrian refugees. This is a contemporary twist to how Trump supporters resembled the locals attitude toward the Oakies and the native Americans when they manipulated the justice system to discourage, maybe even block the migrants from coming into California. This view belittles America’s in born morals, This country was made and built by immigrants not only to pursue an improved tomorrow but escape persecution from what they called home. By taking the freedom aspect of this great country, We as Americans are sadly degrading not only ourselves as…

Overall, the opposition towards immigrants is a major international issue because of those factors: political loyalty, religion, disease, and racism. If it is not resolved, without immigration, the economy’s growth decrease. The Nativists are Americans that are working to stop foreign influence in America. They have engaged in anti-immigrant practices such as: turning away immigrants looking for jobs, not allowing Catholics and foreigners to hold a position in office, they also want to create a 21 year waiting period to become a citizen. These people are also called the "Know-Nothing Party" They oppose allowing Catholic Immigrants to hold office because they believe allowing them in office will allow the Pope to have a hold in America and eventually take away the freedom we Americans fought for. They don’t want to risk giving power to anyone who’s not “native” because the country already fought so much for freedom and don’t want to jeopardize…

Many factors influenced why Americans resented “new” immigrants, such as the decrease of jobs and increase of competition, the differences between cultures and how Americans believed that immigrants were harming the country. While how ‘nativist’ groups, along with their allies in government, responded (both politically and socially) was caused by their fear of immigrants, their view of Americans being superior to immigrants and…

“I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls will be holding hands with little white boys and girls.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr. Throughout the history of Canada there has always been an intolerance towards immigrants, There is a dream some people had for a utopian country, a country the is no longer defined by the color of your skin, the ways you act , the things you do or your beliefs, This dream of some people has still not been reached and most likely never will be, but Canada has greatly changed in many ways since 1914.the biggest problem is that most people do not realize that “Achievement has no color” ~ Abraham…

People from different parts of the world come to America in search of freedom and opportunities to make a better life for themselves and their children. However, due to the political uncertainty in the United States, immigrants are not welcomed or accepted with open arms. By being unwelcoming toward immigrants not only are we preventing them from coming to America but we also prevent aspiring, and hardworking individuals who have the potential to make America a stronger nation. Though some people will argue that there are many natives who are willing to work and are left unemployed because immigrants are taking their jobs; this argument is simply not true. During the 2016 Presidential Election, Hillary Clinton stated that immigrants have a…

How would you feel if almost one million immigrants came into your country and created overcrowding, spreaded diseases, and took your job? In the early 1900’s, many Americans had to deal with this when 650,000 immigrants came from all over the world entered the United States between 1895-1905. The immigrants came from all over the world for several different reasons. As a result of all the immigrants, Americans developed several hopes and fears about these newly arrived immigrants. The immigrants came for many reasons such as to get economic relief, while others came to escape religious persecution. The people that had hopes about the immigrants were the people that liked the immigrants, such as politicians, businessmen, and government officials. The people that had fears about them did not like the newly arrived immigrants, such as citizens and health officers.…

Trump should not only blame Mexico for all crime activities resulting from illegal immigration such as drug traffickers, gangs, and cartels. Many of the crimes that America has seen has not only be committed by illegal immigrants. There has been similar cases of rapes, shootings, robberies, and killings in the news involving both black and white Americans as well. Even if Mr. Trump kick all them out, this will not solve all the problems. Some of these illegal immigrants pay taxes and work hard to provide for their family. In fact, the undocumented immigrants leave their own country, Mexico, in search of better life, job opportunities, and safety. The American dream is the driving force of melting pot and HB2. I think Mr. Trump is being a little bit unfair with undocumented immigrants because many of the American citizens are born of undocumented immigrants. By enforcing mass deportation, Mr. Trump is going to divide families. His attitude against undocumented could eventually result in more hatred against him and the country itself. By cancelling visas, the relationships between the United States and Mexico can be jeopardized. The Mexican government may decide to cut economic ties with the United…
