The Life of Jung Ji-Hoon aka Rain
Jung Ji-Hoon (born June 25, 1982), better known by his stage name[->0] Rain, is a South Korean[->1] singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, model and designer[->2].
Rain's musical career includes seven albums (six Korean, one Japanese), 19 singles and numerous concert tours around the world. His acting career began in 2003, when he won the KBS[->3] Best New Actor award for his role in the drama Sang Doo! Let's Go To School[->4]. In 2004, Rain won the KBS Excellence in Acting award for his role in the drama Full House[->5]. After starring in A Love To Kill[->6], he acted in his first Korean film, I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK[->7] (2006), which won the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival[->8]. Rain has acted in the American films Speed Racer[->9] (2008) and Ninja Assassin[->10] (2009), the latter of which made him the first Korean to win an MTV[->11] award.[1] Rain acted in another Korean film, R2B: Return to Base[->12], that was released in August 2012.
In 2007, Rain left the management of JYP Entertainment[->13] and started his own company, J. Tune Entertainment but still retains collaborative relationship with Park Jin-young[->14].
Rain spent most of his childhood living with his parents and younger sister, Jung Hanna, near Yonsei University[->15]. Despite being an introverted and shy child, he discovered he had a passion for dance when he performed in a talent show for High School. Rain initially had a difficult time balancing dance and academics and received low grades during the beginning of junior high because of his frequent dance practices. He decided to follow his passion and attended High School of Arts[->16] in where he received his first formal instruction in acting and was able to continue dancing as well. Rain again found he could not focus on both dance and his studies in acting; he was truant on several occasions.
Rain lost his mother as she struggled with diabetes and died in 2000. Within that same year, Rain was recruited as

    Alvin Ailey Jr. was born on the 5th of January, 1931 to Lula Elizabeth Ailey, in Rogers, Texas. His experiences of life being brought up in the rural South would later inspire some of his most notable works. Ailey was an only child, and his father left the family when Ailey was the mere age of 1. Ailey soon later moved to Navasota, Texas with his mother. “There was the white school up on the hill, and the Black Baptist Church” said Ailey in a Times interview. Ailey grew up in this world feeling like an outsider. In 1942 he moved to Los Angeles, where he was introduced to dance by performances by the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the Katherine Dunham Dance Company. It was at this time that Ailey became interested in athletics and along with this joined his high schools gymnastic and football teams. When he was 5yrs of age his mother was raped by a group of white men, after that Alvin didn’t trust white people. Alvin as a young boy always had to fend for himself as his mother was working all the time to support them both in that economy (the recession).
