The Legislative Branch: The Most Power In Our Government

According to the Constitution, the Legislative Branch has the most power in our government because they have the most checks and balances over the other branches. The Constitution gives the Legislative many powers to overrule and control the decisions of the other two branches:”The President appoints the heads of all the departments, appoints ambassadors, appoints Federal judges and appoints Supreme Court Justices. The Senate must confirm all nominations.”(Article II, Section 2) and “The President, Vice President, and other Executive leaders can be impeached by Congress for committing crimes.”(Article II, Section 4). The Constitution gives Congress the power to approve or decline all of the President's appointments. This gives not only gives
