The Lady From Thank You Mam Analysis
I noticed that the lady from thank you mam is very connected with the boy and knows what he has been through. This is important because you can see that there is a reason the lady took the boy in and fed him and showered him. For Example: when she said “Um-hum! And you face is dirty. I got a great mind to wash your face for you.”

That shows that even though she knows he is a troubled kid, she still takes him in as if he was her own. She showered the boy and fed the boy, Like the boy was her son. She she took the boy in even though that he was bad. She knew what the boy's life was like. I wonder if the lady would have taken in a boy not like her.

The reason for this is I think the author wanted to show you that there was a strong connection

Daniel Schafer, the author of Anna Madgigine Jai Kingsley: African princess, Florida Slave, Plantation Slaveowner, hopes to convince the reader that Anta Majigeen Ndiaye is an heir to the royal lineage by describing the state of Senegal before and during the time she was born up until her arrival in the United States. He stresses the political, economic, and social factors by stating that the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries of Senegal featured numerous wars and slave raids. Rivalries heightened as Kajoor became the most powerful of the four Wolof states. Internal religious wars broke out in Kajoor between 1790 and 1809. This quickly spread to the surrounding area as the tyeddo warriors heightened the hostility by attacking other Wolof…

Kathy Dobie’s memoir was thought-provoking. When Kathy first had sex with Brian I knew that this was the start of some bad decisions. When she later went from Brian to Victor I knew she was trying to be a “saint.” When Kathy later found her “tribe” I knew from the start they would use her. When they raped her, she found herself analyzing all of her decisions. It gave her confirmation to change the way she was behaving but to keep her “saint” presence in life.…

Times are changing different cultures; they come and go but are going back to their old cultures. Since the beginning of time humans always have a key feature in their nature that help them evolve, become smatter, and acquire their rights; also, one of the biggest features that is changing throughout time is will. Will is the desire or drive to do something, so a strong willed person is someone with a powerful will. Through time, humans of all races and cultures have used will in a good way. For example, when Martin Luther King was locked in jail after protesting for the treatment of blacks, he still kept his will strong, even after everything he had gone through. When will is used in a good way, it can have a huge impact…

"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." Matthew 5:7. Whether they give it or receive it, people will always need mercy. Love is a prerequisite of mercy. Forgiveness connects people in ways that might benefit all concerned because if people can forgive each other for their mistakes, they offer mercy to each other. Trust results from showing mercy. If people can trust one another, then they can show mercy in different aspects of other people's lives. Mrs. Luella in "Thank you Ma'am" and Sherlock Holmes in "The Blue Carbuncle" both give mercy to someone they did not even know because they overflow with love, forgiveness, and trust.…

The central idea in this story seems to be the mother’s search of an understanding of her daughter’s personality and outlook on life. The majority of the story is the mother trying to depict reasons for why her daughter is the way she is, so delicate, reserved, needless, and even unhappy at times. She seems to also defend her parenting choices by making excuses or blaming the urges of others in order to not have all the blame on her. She speaks about how she had no other option but to put her in the care of someone else at the age of two, even though she knew the teacher was “evil” (Pg. 925). “It was the only place there was…the only way I could hold a job” (pg. 925).…

The theme of the story is how many people are given second chances. The story tells us about Roger who looks dirty and frail in the quest for a pair of shoes. “He looked as if he were fourteen of fifteen, frail and willow-wild, in tennis shoes and blue jeans.” There is not anyone care for him. Then there is Mrs. Jones, who takes Roger in to be sure he is clean and fed. This shows that at any time we can be given second chances even if we are in the mist of wrong doing. Mrs. Jones, instead of turning him in to the police takes him in and gives him some desperately needed care and attention. “You gonna take me to jail?” asked the boy, bending over the sink. “Not with that face, I would not take you nowhere,” said the woman.” Mrs. Jones could have easily taken him to the police and started his rap sheet but she could see herself in him that’s why she gives him this opportunity. “I have done things, too, which I would not tell you, son – neither tell God, if He didn’t already know. Everybody’s got something in common.” So Mrs. Jones wanted to give him the same chance that someone once gave her.…
