The LGBTQ Community In The Big Bang Theory

In the Big Bang Theory there are many instances where the characters make jokes about the LGBTQ community. For example, many characters make fun of Raj and Howard’s ‘bromance.’ Leonard’s mom labels their actions as gay and implies that being homosexual is something to be ashamed of. Also, throughout the first season Raj admires Howards flirting abilities with women. This shows that there is a pride in heterosexual interactions. Homosexuality is under represented in the show due to the abundance of heterosexual relationships. This is shown when Sheldon has no interest in any relationship, however, the group set him up in heterosexual relationships.
